How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

If the thermocouple is too far from the flame, this can cause the pilot to go out and shut down the propane heater; you can fix this easily by moving the thermocouple closer to the flame. The thermocouple could also be worn out, in which case it needs to be replaced.
They`re reliable (no worries if there`s an electrical power outage), they`re efficient, and they`re portable. But some people have questions about their safety. Is it really safe to use a propane heater indoors? The answer is yes!
The most common patio heaters produce roughly 40,000 BTUs per hour – meaning a 20-pound propane tank will provide upwards of 10 hours of heat on the highest setting.
propane cylinder will provide anywhere from 9 to 15 hours of heat depending on which heat setting you use.
Here`s a rundown of typical propane usage rates for some of the most common home fixtures: Furnaces: 1 gallon per hour. Water heaters: ~1.5 gallons per day. Fireplaces: 1 gallon every 3 hours.
Unit not turning On: One of the most common issues you will come across with space heaters is that the unit does not turn on. If this is the case, check the switch. At times, the switch is not a snug fit for the socket and may not give power to the unit. Also check for a blown fuse.
Your Gas Valve Needs Attention

The gas valve on your furnace delivers the gas your pilot light needs to remain lit. If the valve is turned ON, but your pilot light won`t stay lit, the problem might be a broken gas valve. The solution most likely will be to replace the valve.

If the pilot light on your gas fireplace won`t stay lit, a very likely culprit is a component called a thermocouple. A thermocouple is a safety device and is a component of the ignition system. Its purpose is to prevent the gas valve from opening if the pilot light isn`t lit.
If your storage heater stops working, there are two most common possibilities – a faulty thermostat and a broken element, provided that it was not covered by clothing accidentally. If these are the problems, you do not have to worry! They can be easily replaced and are also relatively cheap.
If your grill has an igniter button, simply turn the first burner knob all the way up and push the button. For grills that don`t have an ignition button, use a long fireplace match or a lighter wand to light the initial burner after turning it on. Once the first burner is lit, turn the other burners on high.
Fire tables run off of gas, fueled either by an underground gas line or from a propane tank. When the gas burners are lit, you get a warm and inviting flame—but because most people would rather look at something prettier than a gas burner, fire glass is used to keep the burners out of sight.

3 year old Toro Z4200 time cutter Z, 19 HP Kohler, engine runs great, new battery, new solenoid, with the seat sensor connected or by-passed, STILL WONT start off the key switch. Clicks at the kill relay. Would the kill relay be the problem?
Whats confusing is, both the green and blue posts on the solenoid have 14.01 volts when you turn the key to ‘start’ position. Did the same thing with the old solenoid, which is probably still good. I replaced it to eliminate that variable. It also ‘clicks’ at the fuel switch at the carburetor bowl, but that is only 1 lead (I assume a hot lead) so Im thinking that CANT be it.
Using the old hillybilly method, jumping across the 2 top posts on the solenoid, with the key in on position, it will start right up, run, drive and mow just fine.
So my best guess is this ‘KILL RELAY’ must be bad?
Any help would be appreciated, thank you !
ANSWER : These things are pre requisites for engine cranking: PTO/Blades are off/button pushed down, the steering arms are out/parked position, and you are in the seat. I think. Definitely the blades have to off.

Kettler tennis table has rusty legs, one is very bad
ANSWER : To stop this much rust – go to any hardware store and buy (I forget the exact name) a “paint” called Rust Stop. It will stop the rusting and turn the existing rust into a hard black surface that you can then paint.

I have The Protector model #6742Df electronic combination. It came with a key, I’m guessing will open it if the electronic key pad runs out of power. The key pad is not lit and my wife lock her key in the safe. Can I order another key?
ANSWER : Yes you can order a new key from the manufacture or if you see numbers and letters ( key code ) on the face of the lock cylinder you can call a locksmith and they should be able to cut you the key by that code as well. if there is no code on the lock then you can have a locksmith pick it open and also make a key. either way — a locksmith will be your fastest way to get the key.

Starter was removed, rebuilt and reinstalled. Looking for help fo correct wiring.

The starter has 1 small post and 2 large brass posts. 1 at the top and the other atthe bottom

There are 5 wires

– red battery cable
– red & yellow (Small post?)
– 2 red
– 1 orange

What could happen if the combinatio is not correct when I connect the battery?

I believe the serial # is LD64157

1998 Sey ray 3.0 L mercruser 135 HP

ANSWER : Hi,

Attach the orange wire (FROM THE ALTERNATOR) to the stud on the starter solenoid that you connect the red battery cable.. Looking at the studded end of the solenoid, the small stud on the right side gets the yellow w/red stripe from the slave solenoid. The strapping coming out of the starter should be connected to one stud already. The empty large stud gets the two red and the orange wires.”

The Red/ Yellow wire goes to the Small stud, closest to the block,+ All the other wires go on the vacant Big stud.
