How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

If your spool tension knob isn`t working, it`s likely because the knob has become loose or detached from the spool. How does that happen? Well, it happens if you`re not careful when winding the spool or if the knob gets caught on something while you`re fishing.
Reels might not play or upload if you`re using the data saver feature. To turn it off, tap your profile picture, then tap the three-line menu icon and Settings. Go to Account > Cellular data use and tap the toggle off. With this off, you should be able to see Reels.
The easiest way to set the drag on a spinning reel or spincast reel is to first test it by using your hand* to pull on your line directly above the reel. Tighten the drag on your spinning wheel by turning the front drag adjustment button a few clicks to the right if the line pulls out too easily.
Tightening the drag makes it harder for the fish to run and take line, while having a loose drag makes it easier. If the drag is set to loose, line will easily spool off the reel, and fighting the fish is inefficient.
On spinning reels, most of the drag system knobs are on the top of the spool. You simply turn it clockwise to tighten and counter clockwise to loosen.
I like to achieve the tension by putting the spool in an empty box or bucket and holding the line lightly between my fingers as it is wound on. For a spin reel with mono, you want to leave a 2-3mm gap to the edge of the spool to ensure that you are not over spooling the reel.
Instagram reels and videos are stuck on processing if the storage space of a device is low. When posting a video on Instagram, log out of all other social media accounts and turn off all other apps. Your device will only function properly if you have no apps running in the background.
Why do my reels get stuck? Ans – If your reels got stuck while playing then this is because you have poor data connectivity. Try to get a better data signal or switch to wifi.
If Instagram Reels are not uploading, you may try switching from your cellular network to high-speed Wi-Fi. You may also log out from your account, log in again, and try uploading again. Also, try deleting the cache of your Instagram app.
According to traditional theory, drags should be set to between one quarter and one third of the line`s rated breaking strength.
One-quarter or one-third of the line`s breaking strength should be your drag setting at strike,” says Ben Secrest, of Accurate Reels. “If you are fishing 200-pound braid, that equates to 50 to 65 pounds of drag.
1 “I always soak the bulk spool of mono before winding it onto the reel spools. At least for a few hours but ideally overnight. The line will darken right up as it absorbs the water.” 2 “The reason for doing this is to make the mono go incredibly limp just like braid.
ANTI-REVERSE SWITCH

This feature is typically located at the bottom of the reel and can be a helpful tool when fighting fish. This switch allows you to backreel, or reel in reverse, rather than relying on your drag system for line tension.

Remember, by putting too much line on, you are increasing your chances of wind knots. Your line will most likely spring off of your reel all at once because of the over fill. If you put too little line on, you wont be able to cast as far, causing you to possibly miss out on that personal best fish.
However overfilling a reel is just as bad as not putting enough line on the reel. If there is too much line on the reel, the line may absorb water or get more brittle and take up more space on the reel. You will then have line slipping off the edge of the spool on casts and causing tangles and backlashes.
Reel lubricants

Because WD-40 is a degreaser, it breaks down grease and oil. Never use it to lubricate a reel. The basic rule of thumb is to grease gears and oil everything else — sparingly. Too much grease and oil impede the spool and reduce casting distance.

Cleaning the Reel

After every fishing trip, basic maintenance requirements include cleaning the outside of the real with a damp microfiber cloth and perhaps adding a light layer of protectant and lubrication. WD-40 Multi-Use Product works well to provide routine care with a trusted and easily available product.

Oil your reel every couple of uses and deep clean occasionally. Use gentle water pressure when rinsing reels after use to help extend their life.
Backlashes occur when your lure slows down during or after a cast, but the spool keeps spinning, which results in a tangled mess of line. Today`s baitcasters feature sophisticated braking systems and anti-backlash mechanisms that make it easier for anyone to cast without experiencing line overruns.
This distance is application-specific* and is critically important on all differentials because insufficient backlash causes the gears to bind, while excessive backlash causes excessive mechanical wear. Note that both inadequate and excessive backlash can cause varying mechanical noises.
See info about your reel on Instagram

Tap or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile. Tap below your profile info. In the bottom left of each reel, you`ll see the number of video plays (how many times your reel starts to play).

A common feature of a spinning reel spool is the drag adjustment knob. The drag adjustment knob looks like a dial and is generally found on the top of the spool. Learn how to set the drag according to the breaking strength of the line.
What Line Should I Use For a Closed Face Reel? Most closed face reels use monofilament line and generally in test pounds of ten or less. You can use a fluorocarbon line. Fluorocarbon is the new Hot thing in clear water fishing.
Slack fishing line is a big culprit when it comes to line tangles. As you reel in slack line, this creates loose coils on your spool. When you cast, these loose coils will come off the spool quickly compared to the line around it, causing the coils to overlap on themselves as they leave the reel and tangle up.

Penn Spin Reel will not lock after casting
ANSWER : On the front of the spool there is a device to turn to set the drag. Torn it tighter and tighten it until slightly below the breaking point of your fishing line. It isn’t a critical adjustment, it just keeps your line from breaking while trying to land a fish.

Does not flip arm to lock to reel in line – Shakespeare Agility Spinning Reel 6825
ANSWER : Normally when you **** the bail, the reel allows you to discharge the line with a flip of the wrist. Then when you touch the crank and execute half a turn it releases the bail to lock the line and allow you to reel in. If this action is not happening, then the release pawl is stuck and holding the bail in place. You must disassemble the reel, clean the parts and re-assemble with proper lubrication. Checking the parts for wear replace all worn parts.
