I have a Kawasaki Mule 3000. It is hard to keep it idling. I have replaced the fuel filter and have drained and added fresh gas but still nothing. In order to keep it running you have to keep the engine idle high…foot on brake and accelerator. Any advice? Last service by dealer at 720 hr, current 765 hrs. Tried to adjust idle screw but ran out of threads.

ANSWER : Your best bet would be to call a local shop (preferably a Kawasaki dealer) and see if they can run one down for you. I checked some of the larger parts dealers on the net, and they had everything except the calipers, like the following site:

MY 4010 MULE IS BANG IN AND OUT OF FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AND KEEPS BURNING BELT UP WHAT IS WRONG? I HAD IT AT MY DEALER AND THEY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG
ANSWER : I would have the front dfferential inspected – ( and I mean torn down to inspect ), your problem sounds like the gears in the front diffy are not shimmed correctly and this is causing the ‘pop’ and disengagement,, and adding stress to the belt ( friction and burning it up ). there is a problem here and the dealer should be more inspective to solve this issue for you ( because those belts are some of the most heavy duty belts you can get and should not be failing that fast ). I would suggest taking the Mule to another dealer on the other side of town and have them do a full inspection of the differentials ( paying close attention to the 10T gears and the 16T gears and how they are lining up and rotating,, and to look closely at the bearings for slop ).
also have them look at the gear box — again, at the gears and bearings,,, something somewhere is not lining up properly.
now the next thing that you can do is just keep using the 4×4 and use it hard — this will sooner than later show you exactly what the problem is beacuse it will break,, and then take it to the dealer and give them ‘ what for ‘.

Scag SMT61A Mower with Kawasaki 27KA engine. 200
ANSWER : Look on the bottom of the fuel bowl. See if it has an electric fuel shut off solenoid. If it does unscrew the solenoid clean with Carburator cleaner and work the needle up and down until free. When you have it off of the carb plug it back in ground it to a metal surface and turn the key on and off. Watch the needle move up and down. Install back on Carburator bowl and start it up.
