How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

We offer a diverse range of insights on identifying and resolving common problems in sports. Our sources encompass academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays shared by seasoned athletes. :

The problem of an appliance not lighting is usually caused by one of two things. Either the generator is clogged-up with soot, or the fuel & air tube is blocked by dirt or varnish.
Lighting. You must turn the little wire lever so it points upward; this causes the stove to burn a mixture of air and fuel from the top of the tank. This prevent catastrophic flooding of the stove with fuel, but with the wire pointing upwards, the tank loses pressure quickly.
Sometimes when you try to ignite the burner, you can hear a clicking noise and see sparks, but the gas doesn`t ignite. The reason this happens is that the gas supply is partially blocked.
Coleman® stoves, lanterns, lamps and irons use the same basic principles of operation, and have since the early 1900s. Pressure devices place and maintain their fuel under pressure, convert that fuel to a gas vapor and then control the manner and rate at which it burns.
You might hear white gas referred to generically as “Coleman fuel”. Not all brands are identical, but any stove that runs on white gas should burn Coleman fuel without issue. MSR offers a unique blend of white gas called SuperFuel. It is more refined and burns cleaner than almost any other white gas on the market.
Lanterns and stoves made from about 1951 to present are usually stamped on the bottom of the fount. You will see two sets of numbers; the number on the left is the month and the one on the right is the year of manufacture.
You can still manually light nearly every modern gas stove with a match or lighter, even if the igniter is broken. Matches are safer and will work better than typical cigarette lighters. Turn gas on medium. Light match.
Most torch lighters use piezo ignition, in which a small hammer in the lighter strikes a piezoelectric crystal—typically quartz—to produce an electric spark that will light the butane gas being evenly released from the fuel tank.
A gas lighter is a device used to ignite a gas stove burner. It is used for gas stoves which do not have automatic ignition systems. It uses a physical phenomenon which is called the piezo-electric effect to generate an electric spark that ignites the combustible gas from the stove`s burner.
Most newer gas ranges and ovens don`t have pilot lights. Instead, the gas is ignited by an electric ignition system. In this type of system, an element becomes hot and glows like the filament in a lightbulb when an electric current passes through it. The heat from the filament lights the gas.
Yes, it is safe to use a propane stove indoors. However, there are a few safety precautions to take if you have an indoor propane stove. Like any cooking appliance, the key element in successfully using a propane stove is ventilation. Any stove that relies on an open flame releases exhaust into the indoor air.
Coleman fuel and unleaded gasoline burn at 7,500 BTU and will boil water in under 4 1/2 minutes. One tank will burn 1 hour and 20 minutes on high or 7 hours on simmer. Kerosene does not quite burn as hot at 6,500 BTUs but will burn for 2 hours and 25 minutes on high or 9 hours on simmer.
Does propane expire? Another way you get peace of mind with propane delivery from Bottini Fuel is that propane doesn`t have a shelf life or an expiration date. That`s because propane doesn`t go bad! Other fuel sources can degrade over time, like kerosene, diesel, heating oil and gasoline.
Place two small logs across the fire bed. Place 5 pieces of kindling across the two logs, then 4 pieces laid at a 90-degree angle across the bottom layer and place two firelighters in between the gaps. Add another five pieces of kindling laid in the same direction as the bottom layer.
The Dual Zone burner is controlled by one control knob and has 2 circular burners that emit direct and indirect heat. On Zone 1, indirect cooking is possible because only the outer ring is activated. Positioning the food inside of the outer ring allows for the food to cook without direct exposure to the flame below.
If you`re wondering which smokeless fuel is best to use for your multi fuel stove, you should try anthracite or hard coal. It is characterised by high carbon content and several impurities, and it produces less dirt, creosote, pollutants, and smoke when burnt, making it clean-burning and efficient.
The Coleman stove operates on clean-burning Coleman Fuel or unleaded gas and one tank gives you two hours of burn time.
Most manufacturers now use Serial numbers or have some form of data plate on their appliances – usually hidden from front view. If you can`t identify your stove, the three more common places these data tags can be found are the sides, rear or undersides of the stoves.
They can come in different ways: in Celsius degrees, in Fahrenheit degrees or in numbers from 1 to 5. Knob in Celsius: from 250 to 260 degrees. Knob in Fahrenheit: from 500 to 550 degrees.
Problem: It`s clogged with food debris

Whether it`s grease buildup or food crumbs, one of the most common causes for a gas burner that has trouble igniting is debris blocking gas flow to the igniter. The fix: Begin by removing the grate covering the troubled burner.

Check the Igniter

In normal operation, when the oven control is turned to bake, the igniter turns on and starts to glow bright orange. After the igniter gets hot, the gas valve opens and sends gas through the burner. The igniter lights the gas coming from the burner and the oven begins to heat.

If you smell gas but don`t hear any clicking, the issue could lie with the ignition switch. Turn the appliance off and unplug it if you can, then remove the grate and burner cap. Clean out any loose food debris and reconnect any wires that may have come loose.
Over time, the burner coil may become damaged from regular use or roughly placing pots and pans on them. When this happens, you may notice cracks, bubbling, or blisters on the coil. Once this happens, sparking can occur as electricity escapes from the exposed interior.
The most common reason a gas stove won`t light is that the igniter is clogged with debris. Over time, dirt and dust can accumulate on the igniter and prevent it from sparking. If this is the case, you`ll need to clean it off in order for the stove to work properly. If your stove igniter won`t spark, give this a try.

My MSR Pocket Rocket will no longer light. Prior to the complete malfunction, the flame started to become much weaker, and then finally, the burner just would not light. I’ve removed the rubber o-ring on the bottom, uncovering a small hole, but am unsure as to whether this would have anything to do with gas delivery to the burner area. My guess is that there is some sort of buildup that is plugging the passageway through which gas would stream, preventing me from being able to light the burner, but am unable to locate an issue, since it appears I cannot disassemble the unit.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you,
Scott
ANSWER : Hi, chances are the jet is clogged – I’ve experienced this myself on the same stove.

I would leave the rubber o ring alone, the chances of the hole there being blocked are slim, it is more likely to be the outlet jet you can see throught the holes on the riser tube under the burner head.
This tube can be unscrewed – you may need to put something through like a pen for leverage. Once you have done this you can remove the tube and you will see the tiny jet in the top of the brass nut on the knurled base of the stove. Then its simply a matter of finding a thin enough wire or pricker to prod araound in the jet. I have a fine wire brush that works well, although I have only had to do it once in several years.
Put it all back together and you should be back to full power – the whole job takes two minutes tops.
The other thing I did was screw the riser tube back hand tight only – this means I can dismantle and clear the jet when camping if required. It doesnt affect performance or safety. I put a strand of the wire in a blob of blu tak in the plastic case the stove comes with – job done! Hope this helps.

Need to fix regulator for coleman stove 5410708
ANSWER : Just where the regulator attaches to the burner there is a small nut that may be loose. If you look closely at this and turn the regulator (stove off and hose detached!) you may see the nut hat turns easily. Tighten it and make sure the regulator does not rotate too freely, but still turns to adjust when attached to the hose or the smaller gas cartridge, if using that. Test carefully after this.

I have the Intex Sand/Pump pool filter Model SF 20110. It’s been running real great for the last 4 months. However recently it has been tripping the internal overloads and I have found the pump motor to be very hot when I put my hand against it. I have tried several different solutions, such as a level ground platform that was clear of any obstructions, made sure that the motor vents under the motor was clear of anything that would prevent air flow. I used a non electrical type of lubricate on the impeller. When I would turn on the pump the rotor would not turn but only would hum very loudly and then slowly begin to turn. I also noticed that the motor’s rotor shaft would not turn to freely due the tightness around the rotor’s shaft. After using the lubricate the shaft would turn a little easier. I used an amp meter on the incoming voltage line and the motor would run at 4.5 amp. And yet it still overheated and tripped the motor overloads. I can only think that the motor is still not getting enough ventilation. I have check and cleared all the incoming lines and found nothing block the pumps input or output lines. Any suggestion?
ANSWER : I just looking into this issue my self. The pump cools itself by a internal fan, which is run by the motor. Well I took the housing cover off to find out all the fan blades have broken off and were setting in the base of the pump. Once you remove the fan blades from covering the air intake, it might be fine. I will find out my self once summer gets here.

Square tent with 2 types gazebo poles, varenda, 2 side windows
ANSWER : The 2 longest of the poles go in an x over the center of the tent and the 2 shorter ones go arch to the sides. http://www.wenzelco.com/details.aspx?NavID=412shows a picture very similar to your tent. If you go to image 2 it shows it with out the fly. now if you got 2 sets of 4 poles, 2 long and 2 short, and one set is all aluminum, then I would go with the aluminum set. It is less likely to collapse in high winds.
