Experienced athletes share their insights in answering this question:
No because they
feature a Liner protection system that uses flexible ribbed PVC caps that snap
over the frame, protecting the Liner from shovel & skate cuts. If you do
get any small cuts in the liner you can use duct tape to cover them.

How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

You can use your rollerblades on synthetic ice surfaces, but not without its challenges. The slippery surface can bring some balance, speed, and stopping concerns for the inexperienced skater. However, the surfaces are comfortable and durable and hurt less when falling.
The general consensus is that ice skates aren`t sharp enough to cut your fingers off, and you can gently run your fingers along the blade without any worry. But when moving at high speeds, they can certainly cause pretty big cuts, so it`s still important to be careful.
Ice in backyard or outdoor rinks can gather dirt quickly or have it frozen into the surface. This makes the ice abrasive and potentially dangerous. This dirt and debris will dull blades faster than when skating indoors. Outdoor ice is typically harder than indoor ice and can wear your blades down quicker.
You can make your rink as big or small as you like. A small sized rink around 13 x 10 feet is good for practicing stick handling and shooting. The bigger you make it, the more you can do.
You do not need a plastic liner or tarp if you are making an old fashioned backyard ice rink (traditional). In order to make ice, you simply pack snow, flood the snow surface with water and allow it to freeze. You can make this traditional backyard ice rink with or without boards.
Skaters should skate on the road, and must ride in the same direction as traffic. Skaters should signal their turns and should skate in a predictable manner. Skaters should wear bright reflective type material and have on protective equipment. Skaters should yield to pedestrians.
Rusty skates are caused by moisture that corrodes the metal coating and base metal of your blades. If you let it go untreated for too long the rust will make the blades unusable and will force you to buy new skates. If the rust is minimal on your skates, no need to worry, you easily remove it with a few tools.
While your skates can never be too sharp, they can certainly be too dull and that can take a whole lot of fun out of the game. For those skaters who do feel their skates are too sharp at times, we recommend reviewing our post on selecting an ROH. You should experiment with a slightly shallower radius.
Regularly flood your rink with a layer of water—an ice resurfacer and a thin layer of hot water will help you create a smooth surface. The ideal temperature to flood your ice is between -7 and -20 degrees Celsius.
The grinding of the blade is at a greater angle than other cold knife blades. This makes the resistance less when pulling the cold knife to cut the urethane. The end result is a cold knife blade that has the ability to resist breaking, last longer and keep a sharp edge.
For a solid freeze and to make good quality ice, the ground must be frozen and the air temperature should be at least -4°C or colder for at least five consecutive days.
To hold the average adult, the ice on your rink needs to be at least 3 inches thick to avoid cracking.
Technically, Yes You Can

Yes, but with some major caveats. First, aboveground pools make for very dangerous and ill-advised ice rinks, if only for the simple reason that skaters are likely to topple right off their new backyard ice rink.

The first synthetic ice sheets were made from polyoxymethylene plastic. Through the decades though, technology has steadily advanced. Today, synthetic ice rinks are typically made with High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and Ultra-High Molecular Weight (UHMWPE).
NEVER leave your skates in the car when it`s hot outside. Not only does this affect the heat molding of your boot, but it does not allow for your skate to air out fully causing odor and molding.
Store your skates properly

Store them indoors away from heat, cold and sun. Never leave your skates sitting in the trunk of your car where they will be exposed to extreme temperatures and not able to air out properly.

Skating in the rain or even just on damp ground can affect your bearings and reduce their efficiency. After a wet skate it`s important to clean your bearings to ensure no permanent damage is done.
As a general rule, wood, laminate, and linoleum floors will not be damaged by the wheels of roller skates or roller blades. Make sure your wheels are clean and are made of smooth material with no sharp edges. Toe stops can leave marks, so test yours on a piece of scrap or hidden flooring before you start.
Keep the blades uncovered in your bag or get a pair of “soakers.” Soakers act to absorb moisture on your blades and prevent them from rusting. Rust on blades looks brown and flaky and will dull your skates and make them unsafe to use.
Use a flat file to file the blade from toe to heel in a diagonal motion. Be sure the file is always perpendicular to the blade. Slide the flat file across a single blade in the same direction roughly 20 times, then perform the same motion in the opposite direction. Repeat the process for the other skate.
So focus when you are skating on your “weight foot print” and make sure the front half of your skate has way MORE weight than the back half. You will know when you have done this when your feet don`t hurt anymore. Reducing your speed will help this, as more speed makes our bodies (and feet) tense even more.
Head injuries, including concussions, pose the greatest danger to young skateboarders. These can involve time in a hospital, permanent impairment, and — in extreme cases — even death. Hand, wrist, or shoulder injuries may occur when skateboarders lose their balance and fall on an outstretched arm.
The resulting injuries from falling on ice or snow can be painful and have serious consequences. You could fracture your arm or wrist while trying to break your fall or crack your tailbone if you land on your lower back, or receive a concussion if you hit your head on the icy surface.
About 1 in every 700 ice skaters will experience an injury,1 and the average age of those injured is 33 years old.

Need a Popeil Pocket fisherman manual
ANSWER : For the original pocket fisherman. I believe the design has not changed. Once you do it the first time it is actually quite easy. Two things to note. Read this whole thing first.1) the location of the bail spring (Keeps the metal bail cover up so line does not get stuck when casting.Note: This is important cause the metal bail cover must rise enough so that the line casts smoothly. (A complaint about this product. But when calibrated correctly it is quite good for what it is)2) The little **** that the crank gear plastic housing will fit into (Must be on top when you put the whole bail back in. The crank shaft lip fits into that ****.You’ll get it when you see it.Remove the panel screws (2) as you did. Pop out the crank shaft (copper). **** is in top when replacing. (remember that). Remove the bail. On the top of the bail there is a screw. ( becareful and remember how the little metal bail spring in situated here. Turn upside down with metal bail cover in your palm as it conects to the bail spring). Pull off metal bail cover. The plastic line holder actually comes apart and holds a lot more line than you think. Replace line. Feed the line back up the rod. Assemble the opposite.

I bought a Rio 30′ piece of sink tip T-11 which included 3 loop connectors. At the same time I bought extra loop connectors (4-6 wt). When I opened the sink tip the LCs had a very narrow end which opened into a slightly larger diameter nearer the loop. the ends are frayed.
My question is, do you have any hints as to how to apply the included loop connectors to my sink tip. I had no problem getting ther 4-6 wt LC and BTW, I tied a nail knot over the LC near the end of the sink tip line and super glued the collar place over the end of the LC where the line enters the LC.
ANSWER : Hi,Please elaborate your problem providing us with more detailsThanks

Hi,
I just assembled my new Waterrower Natural. Quite simple. Haven’t filled it with water yet however. I encountered a strange thing: when truning within the tank, one blade slightly touches the tank on one specific place. This doesn’t only give a scratching sound, but of course also hinders the free movement of the blades and. Is this a hopeless case or is it a known phenomenon that can be easily solved (e.g. by filling the tank with water, or by reajusting the blades or so)?
My e-mail address is [email protected]

the Netherlands
ANSWER : I had the same problem. But when I filled the tank with watter it went away.

Good Luck

Help! Just bought a Remington 30 06 for my grandson that has a Bushnell Sportview U4124 4-12power scope mounted on it. I would like to sight it in at 100 yards using a 180 grain shell but I don’t have the owners manual and I don’t understand an on line explanation that I found. This is the on line message: “You’ll see two horizontal crosshairs, put the top one on the animals back then zoom in until the bottom one is on his stomach. Look at the numbers on the zoom dial there should be three lines they are D – deer, E – elk and A – antelope. The numbers are the distance to the game, you then turn the external elevation knob or turret to the matching distance and shoot dead on. No need to hold over for bullet drop. The sad part will be if you didn’t get the other turrets that would have come with it as they are calibrated to different calibers and bullet weights”
I don’t understand how to set the elevation knob to 100yards when its lowest shown number is 150. If I need other turrets how or where can I get them? Thanks, a frustrated grandfather.
ANSWER : You can contact the Remington directly who will ship you a free users manual. Here is the company’s Contact Us details:

I have the Intex Sand/Pump pool filter Model SF 20110. It’s been running real great for the last 4 months. However recently it has been tripping the internal overloads and I have found the pump motor to be very hot when I put my hand against it. I have tried several different solutions, such as a level ground platform that was clear of any obstructions, made sure that the motor vents under the motor was clear of anything that would prevent air flow. I used a non electrical type of lubricate on the impeller. When I would turn on the pump the rotor would not turn but only would hum very loudly and then slowly begin to turn. I also noticed that the motor’s rotor shaft would not turn to freely due the tightness around the rotor’s shaft. After using the lubricate the shaft would turn a little easier. I used an amp meter on the incoming voltage line and the motor would run at 4.5 amp. And yet it still overheated and tripped the motor overloads. I can only think that the motor is still not getting enough ventilation. I have check and cleared all the incoming lines and found nothing block the pumps input or output lines. Any suggestion?
ANSWER : I just looking into this issue my self. The pump cools itself by a internal fan, which is run by the motor. Well I took the housing cover off to find out all the fan blades have broken off and were setting in the base of the pump. Once you remove the fan blades from covering the air intake, it might be fine. I will find out my self once summer gets here.
