Pool is loosing water down to the bottom of the skimmer not sure where what position the valve should be in? I had positioned the valve to let excessive water out from heavy rain fall but not sure if I placed the valve in the right position for filtering. The labels are worn off and not sure of what position the valve is in.
How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?
We offer a diverse range of insights on identifying and resolving common problems in sports. Our sources encompass academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays shared by seasoned athletes. :
Try to keep the equipment at the level of the pool or lower. Placing the filter system above the water level in the pool puts more strain on the pool pump. Inground pool pumps are built to handle minor lifts of two or three feet, and high head pumps that have much more capacity are available if required.
Located on the top or side of the filter, the multiport valve`s numerous settings direct the pool water where you need it to go, allowing you to use the filter for multiple purposes.
What the different types of multi-port valves? Multi-port valves can come in different variations 3, 4 or 5 way ball valves. A 3 way valve is the number of ports for possible connection, and positions of flow are determined by the position of the handle for manual valves or actuator for automated control.
Four-way poppet valves have one exhaust port which is shared by all cylinder ports. The 4-way spool valve can be controlled by using two operators, one on each end or by a spring return and a single operator. The flow path when actuated at the 14 end of the valve is from port 1 to port 4 and from port 2 to port 3.
pumps and motors must be located between 6 and 10 feet from the pool walls, and they must be GFCI-protected and locked. general use can be no closer than 20 feet from a pool or in- ground spa if they are not GFCI-protected, and no closer than 6 feet away if they are GFCI protected.
Most filter systems are designed to operate in the 5-15 psi or 10-20 psi range. The way to find out your particular correct pool filter pressure is to clean or backwash the filter thoroughly and empty the pump and skimmer baskets.
The size of your inlets and outlets can by found by measuring the diameter on the female fitting (most likely to be 1.5” or 2”). If your struggling to find a part number don`t worry, the next step is to identify how many ports your multiport valve has, it`s colour and what size the pipework is going to the valve.
The Multiport Valve is the heart of a sand filter. It directs the pool water through one of 5 different pipes, depending on the setting chosen on the Multiport top. Functions of the Multiport Valve.
VALVE ARRANGEMENT
Various arrangements have been used; the most common are the L-head, I-head, and F-head (fig. 12-8). The letter designation is used because the shape of the combustion chamber resembles the form of the letter identifying it.
These are typical handle position options provided in valve descriptions: Two positions (90 degrees) Three positions (180 degrees) Four positions (270 or 360 degrees)
Naturally a DOHC V6 must have four camshafts and potentially 24 valves in total, so the complexity of the additional valvetrain components needed to fill each cylinder head further increases the complexity of this engine setup which can make working on V6s an intimidating prospect for a less-experienced petrolhead.
The 6-way valve is the only one of its kind designed for chilled beams, radiant ceiling panels, and 4-pipe fan coil units providing true flow and dynamic balancing. It has the functionality of up to four 2-way control valves and two balancing valves saving material and installation time.
The valve should go to the mid position with both Port “A” and Port “B” open. The boiler should fire and the pump should run. The pipes connected to Port “A” and Port “B” should get hot. Once satisfied with the valve operation, reset the programmer and the thermostats to normal control settings.
A 3/2-way valve has three ports and two positions that can be driven pneumatically, mechanically, manually or electrically via a solenoid valve.
3-Position Toggle Valves are dual function products that contain two valves in one body with a common input and common exhaust. These valves can be used as independent 3-way valves or as a 4-way (5/3) with an Open Center.
The 4-Way 2-Position Directional Valve (IL) block models a valve with four openings in an isothermal liquid network, typically between an actuator, pump, and tank. The valve operation is controlled by a single spool displaced according to the signal at port S.
4-way valves have 4 ports; Pressure (P), Tank (T), Advance (A) and Retract (B). The 3 positions are used to control the advance, retract and hold the tool or cylinder. 4-way valves are designed to operate double-acting hydraulic tools.
Every pool should cycle through all of its water at least once a day, so most pool owners will want to run their pumps for at least 4-8 hours daily. But you don`t have to run those 4-8 hours all at once so you can split the pump time up at different parts of the day to ease your energy budget.
On average, you should run your pool pump around 6-8 hours per day during winter and 10-12 hours per day during summer. Note that you need to run your pool pump longer during summer because algae grow more in warm temperatures.
Generally, if your pool filter water pressure rises more than 10 PSI over the normal range, it`s time to clean – or possibly even replace — your filter. For most filters, 20 or 30 PSI is considered too high, but you should consult your pool professional to make sure that`s true for your model.
Poor circulation can be caused by clogged pool filters, but also from a couple of other issues you should know about. If you find your pool isn`t circulating properly but the filter is clear, you may have a blown fuse or other electrical problem.
The most common reason for low or no water flow is your skimmer and/or pump baskets are full of debris. By checking and emptying both the skimmer basket (by the pool) and the pump basket (inside the pump), this will help free up the water flow, allowing the system to fully `prime` and function at full capacity.
Side Mount Multiport Valves are rated at 100 GPM to accommodate most installations.
One common symptom of multiport valve problems is when there is leaking around the valve itself, or when water comes out of the waste line, even when the valve is set to the FILTER position. Multiport valve problems may also be indicated when dirt fails to be trapped by the filter, instead returning to the pool.
Saltwater filter system on an INTEX swimming pool.
After putting fresh well water in pool, (5,060 gallons) I put in 120 lbs. of swimming pool salt. I ran the filter for 24 hours then fired up the saltwater chlorinator. After an hour the water went from totally clear to clear but now quite green. Now what? There is still about 1 hour to go on the recommended 5 hour cycle. It’s not clearing up.

ANSWER : Are the require hours properly set as required. In some cases it takes much time in clearing/cleaning the dirt from water.
Set the operating hours using the up arrow button to increase the hours of operation and the down arrow button to decrease the hours of operation. Hours of operation are determined by the amount of water in gallons for the pool size.Re-lock the keypad by pressing and holding the down arrow button for 2 seconds until a long beep is heard, then pressing and holding the up arrow button for another 2 seconds until a second long beep is heard. The green LED light will light up within minutes indicating the system is operating.
It is possible to run the system for a longer period of time than is necessary. However, because chlorine dissipates over time (which is why pool owners must constantly go to the store, constantly purchase, and continually add standard chlorine to their pools), if you happen to run your Saltwater Pool System too long, you can simply begin running it for a shorter period the next day, and your pool will be fine. The best way to determine the optimal length of time to operate your system is to experiment with different operating lengths of time, and to test the amount of chlorine in your pool using the chlorine test strips provided by Intex. See Owner’s Manual for operating time table list. If you have one available.
How long does it take for the Saltwater Pool System to clear the “green” water from my pool? The Intex Saltwater Pool Systems work very quickly, and will immediately begin eliminating bacteria and algae from pool water. However, the exact amount of time needed to transform dirty, dangerous pool water to safe, clean, clear, fresh pool water will depend on a number of factors including how dirty the pool water is to start with, the size of the pool, and the temperature of the outside air.
Will the Saltwater Pool System work even if I use well water? What if I have hard water? Yes, the Saltwater Pool System will work in all water conditions. However, you may find it desirable to treat your water (just as you would if it was being used in your house), if it is hard or has high levels of calcium, etc. Calcium can form white scale on the titanium plates in the electrolytic cell, thus requiring more frequent cleaning. Other than more frequent cleaning, it will not affect the ability of your Saltwater Pool System to perform its functions.
