Gap: 0.028″.
An easy way to increase the top speed of your Kawasaki Mule is to make sure that the tires are fully inflated — the flatter your tires are, the slower you`ll go.
The VIN can be found on the left front frame rail behind the wheel.
Spark plugs are typically designed to have a spark gap which can be adjusted by the technician installing the spark plug, by the simple method of bending the ground electrode slightly to bring it closer to or further from the center electrode.
The gap setting is different for each vehicle but most are somewhere between 0.028″ and . 060″. Consult the owner`s manual or Champion ® catalog to find the recommended setting for the vehicle you`re working on.
According to Kawasaki, the bike can reach a top speed of 212 mph. Kawasaki has once again pushed the boundaries of motorcycle technology and performance with the release of the 2023 Ninja H2R. This is an impressive feat that puts the Ninja H2R in the same league as some of the fastest cars in the world.
Kawasaki Engine model and serial numbers are located on a tag attached to the rear of the engine on the engine housing. See image below for reference. The CODE number above the barcode is made of the model and the spec number. The first number refers to the model number and the second number refers to the spec number.
Each of the 17 characters in a VIN code represents a particular piece of information. For instance, the 10th character shows the model year (“1” means 2001, “B” means 1981 or 2011, etc.). This is one of the simplest bits to reveal.
The Kawasaki VIN number consists of 17 characters. If you look at the code of your bike, you will see that the first characters are JK. The letter J stands for Japan, the country where the engine and the frame were made. The next letter identifies the name of the company, here we have Kawasaki and letter K.
Hold the post with a spanner while you slacken the locknut, then turn the post anti-clockwise to reduce the clearance and clockwise to increase it. When the gap is correct, hold the post steady while tightening the locknut, then check the clearance. Keep turning the crankshaft until you have checked all the valves.
If you notice that your engine is losing power when you start it or if you hear loud tapping or clicking sound when you start it, your valves may be out of adjustment. A rough idling time, especially before the car warms up, is another sign that your valves are out of adjustment.
To adjust hydraulic lifters two fingers spin the pushrod as the lock nut is gently tightened. When resistance is felt on the pushrod, that`s zero lash. The adjuster is tightened to specs then the setscrew locks it in place.

Turned poulan pro 42 inch 18.5 HP Briggs and Stratton mower off after 1hr of use to move a board I was about to mow over. Tried to restart it but it just backfires. Removed spark plug and it looked fouled. Cleaned it up but when looking at spark it is orange in color. Bought new spark plug and now get white spark. Installed new spark plug and it still backfires. Plug is wet with gas. Any suggestions?
ANSWER : Check the valve clearances and especially the inlet valve to make sure that it is not riding (staying slightly open) B&S are notorious for valve problems as most of their motors do not have a valve adjustment on them, the valves stems have to be filed/ground down to get a clearance. Somewhere between 0.010 to 0.015″ is near enough for the inlets and about 0.005″ more for the exhaust. It is not critical.

Spark plug wire boot grounding out on coil, 96 outback 2.5 automatic, just put new spark plug wires, new spark plugs, and new coil on. ran great for two weeks, now spark is jumping out of boot at coil on one wire, put old coil back on and still does it in the same spot. replaced wires again, and still does it in the same spot. seems to do it only under a load. Is my new spark plug on that cylinder bad? Does the coil need some insulation under it? It is the coil that sits right on top of the motor. Any ideas? thanks.
ANSWER : Sparks are high voltage, and will always follow the path of least resistance. If you can visibly see a spark (whether in a lighted area, or in the dark), that means either that a plug wire (or coil wire) is open (non conductive), or your have a carbon track on the surface where the spark can be seen, but most likely you have BOTH problems!

If you have an ohmmeter, check the resistance of each wire involved, particularly spark plug wires … which means you must be able to connect to both ends of each wire at the same, and hopefully, FLEX those wires, to be sure they don’t have a break inside that is intermittent (comes and goes)!

Have a 2004 kawasaki 3010 desiel mule that has worked fine for years with regular maint. then yesterday we started it as usual with the glow plug lights indicator and it ran for a few minutes until we went to take of and it just died. period. we tried to check thing out and finally found a bad fuse in the glow plug fuse holder, changed it with the same size and it ran the rest of the time we needed it and then again today we started and ran it same as yesterday and it worked fine for about 30 to 45 minutes and will out in the field it just quite. i immediately started searching for signs of heat or melting of wire or other signs and found none. the fuse that goes into this circuit is a 5 amp and all i had was a 20 so i said lets see what happens. it immediately blow the fuse without any out ward sign of problems.??????

I just purchased this Yamaha boat w/Twin MR-1 140hp motors, less than 100hrs (60 prox)and the starboard motor only reached 8000rpm on a 10000 redline spec (the port motor reaches 10000rpm. I have replaced the spark plugs immediatly and now the motor reaches 9500rpm. When the plugs were replaced the plug wire top of the plugs had a black powder residue (like graphite)and #1 & 4 plug electrode end were black minimal soot and #2 & #3 had a white color residue on the ceramic.

Any suggestions to attain the full 10000rpm?

I,ve got a Kawasaki super sport xi (jh 750-b) it hasnt been started ffor a couple of years so its my job to get it going so i’ve cleaned out the water jet (cause it had some big stones in) got some new spark plugs and tried kicking it over, there NO SPARK now. And also i could turn the propeller and it wasnt turning the engine, is that true. My friend said it had sucked up a stone and snapped somekind of bolt is this true. If its the coil packed buggered thats why there no spark where can i get another…. Many thanks carlie
ANSWER : Two problems if there is no spark it could be several things, the prop not spining is normal if you sucked up rocks, it’s design to do that to save the motor. It’s a rubber spacer. I’m parting out my 750 xi ss. Let me know if you need parts [email protected]
