The weight of a pop-up can vary as much as any travel trailer or fifth wheel considering their size and usefulness. A hard-sided pop-up, similar to an Aliner, can vary in weight from 1,180 to 2,700 lbs.; while tent style pop-ups range from 1,300 to 3,700 lbs.
The invoice and dealer receipt. The invoice usually includes the make and model number of your RV. Your owner`s manual and operating instructions. Your RV model number should be printed on any of the new owner materials provided by the manufacturer.
For towable recreational vehicles, travel trailers and fifth wheels, you will find the VIN number metal plate or on the Federal certification label. The label is typically on the left front corner (lower roadside) of the RV somewhere near the bottom of the sidewall.
The Jayco Swan camper trailer is easy to tow with the touring model only weighing 1126 Kg tare allowing most small cars to tow with ease.
Pop-up campers come in a range of sizes, from around 8 feet up to 30 and weighing from just 700 to more than 3,000 pounds.
The largest Camper Trailer in the Jayco Range, the Jayco Swan Camper Trailer boasts plenty of room with its bed ends that slide out either side, rivalling space many full sized caravans host.
Simply put, your Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is the maximum amount of weight that your trailer is rated to carry. This number INCLUDES the weight of the trailer itself and the cargo/equipment you plan to haul.
How Much Does A Pop-Up Camper Weigh? The average weight of a pop up camper is between 1,800 pounds and 2,000 pounds. Sure, you can find some weighing a lot more and a lot less than that, but the maximum weight (dry) of a pop-up camper you`re likely to see is just a little over 3,000 pounds.
Also known as a “Pop-Up Caravan”, “Fold Out Camper” or “Tent Trailer”, a Pop-Up Camper is a class of recreational vehicle (RV) with collapsible roof and walls. Thanks to its fabric walls and screen windows, Pop-Up Campers can fold down into a compact package that makes it easier to tow than a full-sized trailer.
Jayco`s SLX travel trailers are the brand`s lightweight lineups. The numbers represent the square footage of the interior. RV abbreviations denote that this model has a rear living room with a single slideout.
The VIN plate is typically found on the campers tongue. Use the Vin Decoder to identify your year.
The majority of RVs are equipped with a 30 amp electrical system. Using the 30 amp electrical system in your RV is quite different than using a 200 amp electrical system at home.
Lightweight camp, utility, and boat trailers are usually sold by the original manufacturer with the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) displayed by the mylar decal or sticker-type label required under the federal motor vehicle safety standards.
The very first Jayco product came off the production line in early 1976. In that first year, Jayco produced 480 vehicles, and from there they continued to expand the range of Campers and then went into Pop Tops.
Just like any other 17-digit VIN number, the last 6 positions (12-17) are the trailer`s serial number. The serial number is what makes each VIN unique, since the VIN pattern or squish (positions 1-8, 10, and 11) will be the same, for the most part, for multiple VINs representing the same trailer model in a given year.
Towable by most mid-size tow vehicles, the Jay Feather Micro is the lightest travel trailer from Jayco.
Weight (Tare/ATM/Tow ball)

The Swan Outback – at a travel length of 5365mm – is the longest of Jayco`s camper-trailer range tested so far; the equal second-longest Outbacks – the Hawk and Eagle Outback – are 5060mm long but have a heavier tow ball weight (145kg and 150kg respectively) than the Swan`s 130kg.

Larger pop up campers that come with a kitchen sink can weigh well over a ton (or 2,000 pounds), while the most spartan pop up campers weigh only around 600 pounds empty.
Easy to find and easy to use, CAT scales (also called truck scales) can be found at most truck stops. No appointment is needed. You simply take your RV to your local truck stop and drive onto the platform scales.
Dry Weight is the actual weight of a vehicle or trailer containing standard equipment without fuel, fluids, cargo, passengers, or optional equipment.
Standard travel trailers are 10 – 35 ft in length, and it`s also known as bumper pull travel trailers. They can weigh anywhere from 2,000 pounds to 10,000 pounds, so you can decide if you want a heavy or lightweight option. Standard travel trailers are a popular choice among rv and motorhome enthusiasts.

Used 1981 Jayco pop-up travel trailer
ANSWER : Are these the bunk supports. I have a jayco of my own and I know there are lots of slots to put thinhs in so it can be difficult but each model is slightly different and if one support isn’t in right than this can damage the frame. I would go to the jayco site and search for the nearest dealer and they are always helpful. But the nearest dealer might be a little ways away as alot of them are going out of business or merging with other dealers. The website is : http://www.jayco.com/php/products/camping.trailers/camping.trailers.php

I just bought an InStep® Joyrider Bicycle Trailer and the photo’s are not very good. When attached is the bike trailer hitch supposed to attach perpedicular to the bike and the spring bends to 90 deg. when pulled. It seems odd to me, almost like there should be another part.
ANSWER : The hitch part that fastens to your bike rear axle has 3 pieces, a dimpled washer which goes on first then the hitch plate and a pin that holds the trailer to the hitch. Take off the axle nut (15 mm wrench) install the dimpled washer it goes on with the 90 deg tang facing the bike wheel and in the channel so it can’t rotate. Then put the hitch plate on, mine faced down for the correct height, line up the dimpled washer with the bumps on the hitch plate to locate it properly. reinstall the wheel nut and be sure to align the wheel so it runs straight and true (I oopsed on this the first time) then attach the trailer, it is a 90 deg hook-up then you simply put the the pin in and you are good to go. The unique hook-up makes it so smooth and dampened that you don’t even know it’s behind you. We really love ours!

We have a 1994 HiLo FunLight camp trailer. The water pump does not come on when attempting to use the water.
The tank is full of water, the battery is fully charged, the trailer is connected to power. Any suggestions? Where is the fuse located? Where is the SureFlo Water Pump located in this trailer?
Thank you very much. Chuck Stafford
ANSWER : THi-Lo Trailer500 South Main StreetPO BOX 577Bellville, OH 44813Local: 419-886-0066This is a link that may or may not help you:. If there is a fuse or a breaker for the pump, it would more than likely be on the DC panel. The pump could be located in a variety of different places but would probably be under a sink, around or on top of water tank, or in storage under the bed, access being either by removing matteress and a panel hidden by matress or, by removing a drawer in the base of the bunks lower structure. You probably have a pressure valve in the line somewhere near your water inlet connection, you may want to check that and, the pump might be in thta area also.
