How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

We offer a diverse range of insights on identifying and resolving common problems in sports. Our sources encompass academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays shared by seasoned athletes. :

You Have a Bad Battery

Batteries that are not fully charged will freeze at anything below freezing temperatures of 32°F (0°C). Even if you are in a cold place but your motorcycle is inside, your motorcycle battery can still become drained. If your battery drains enough, there will not be enough juice in it to start.

Check the ignition system– If your bike is not starting after a rain, another potential cause is that your ignition system is wet. The inductor and the switches are two sites that can cause problems. Oxidation will lead the coil windings to fail if water has crept into the coils or alternator.
If a motorcycle won`t start after falling over, the biggest reason may be due to fuel delivery issues such as too much fuel leaking into the engine cylinders. The motorcycle may also have an internal switch that has malfunctioned or have a disconnection in the electronics because of the fall.
It`s most common to just get the bike off the stand and get going the moment it comes to life. However, just like athletes who warm up before they start, every bike needs to run for a couple of minutes before to get it up to the operating temperature.
Condensation in the air can find its way into the exhaust pipe, causing it to rot from the inside out, so it is always a good idea to start the bike and give it a good warm up every few weeks.
Put the bike in gear, lift the rear wheel off the ground, and give it a spin. The engine will turn over slowly and pump any water in the cylinder out the plug hole. If your bike has a carburetor, remove the float bowl or the bowl`s drain screw, drain the gas, and reinstall.
The best thing you can do for yourself after a bike crash, Ross said, is to take your time getting up and moving around. You don`t need to jump back on your bike as fast as possible—slow down and assess the damage to yourself and your bike before pedaling off.
What will be damaged? Slow and stationary drops will result in very minor damage to your bike`s fairings, tank, mirrors, handlebars, your radiator, and the engine`s stator or clutch basket case. You may also want to check your tail section for any scuffs and scratches.
What should you do after a bike fall? If after falling off of your bike you are having trouble seeing, or moving any part of your body, call an ambulance immediately — and do not try to get back on your bike. If everything is working properly and you are thinking clearly, get to a safe place and access your injuries.
Most new cars and bikes won`t really have any problems if not used for up to a month. However, older ones will likely face some maintenance issues. It`s not just with the batteries, but also with rust and fungus issues if one lives in a high-humidity or coastal region or places with a lot of rainfall.
A non-cranking condition could be due to a dead battery, blown starter-motor fuse, faulty starter-motor relay, a safety override (like the kickstand being down while the bike is in gear), or perhaps even something as basic as the kill switch being in the off position.
For how long should you warm up a motorcycle engine? Everyone I talked to said about one minute of motorcycle warm-up is plenty of time to allow the piston and other parts to gradually expand and ensure good oil circulation to the upper end.
Subjecting a cold piston to extreme heat and friction without first allowing it to warm up can cause rapid piston expansion and scuffing. The engine doesn`t achieve optimal clearance between parts until it reaches normal operating temperature.
Nevertheless, it`s wise to warm up the engine first. But here`s the thing—don`t let your motorcycle idle too long! You could be doing more harm than good if you do. Today`s engine-management systems make it so you don`t have to worry too much about things like warming up your bike`s engine.
Do I Have To Empty The Gas Tank Before Putting My Motorcycle In Storage? No, you actually want to fill the tank completely full before putting it in storage. In fact, you should always top off all your vehicle`s fluids. Empty or low tanks attract condensation and moisture buildup during temperature shifts.
Biking in the rain is more dangerous than riding in dry conditions for an obvious reason: slippery when wet. The road itself is slicker, and so are trail obstacles. Painted surfaces and metal road features are like ice.
After cleaning, rinse the motorcycle thoroughly with plenty of clean water. This is because strong detergent residue can corrode alloy parts. Dry the bike, start the engine, and let it run for several minutes (it`s a nice opportunity to admire your handiwork). Test the brakes before riding.
Will Rain Destroy My Bike? In the short-term rain will not destroy a bike. However, if a bike is left unprotected for long periods, rain can significantly damage a bicycle`s chain, cassette and derailleur through rust and corrosion. The good news is, there are a lot of ways to weatherproof all parts of your bike.
Water can make its way to all the tiny cracks and crevices, and sometimes, if left unattended, cause some damage and premature wear. While in an ideal world, you`d give your motorcycle a nice, thorough wash after every rainy ride.
If you ride in the rain often, you`ll need to wash your bike more frequently than you would in dry conditions. Rain loosens up oil and debris on the road which will wind up on your bike and in your drivetrain. If you`re commuting in the rain, try to bring a dry towel with you or have a stash at work.
Check for damage to the engine case, kickstand, foot pegs, forks, brake lever, brake pedal, and so on. Make sure nothing has come loose. The lighting should work and the motorcycle should run smoothly. If there`s any damage to the engine case, call for a tow.
The RICE approach: rest, ice, compression, and elevation of the injured part of our body. Over-the-counter and safe prescription pain relievers. Anti-inflammatory medications. Physical therapy.
Regular repeated wet rides, without any degrease & lube on your transmission, will kill lots of bits of your bike at the same time. Gear cables, Chain, Cassette, front and rear Gear derailleurs can be ruined within days with the dreaded combination of daily rain and no maintenance.
Though riding a bicycle is not an inherently risky activity, bike crashes are most common when there is a negligent driver, and bicyclists are more likely to be injured than the driver and passengers of a vehicle.

I have a 2004 60 hp yamaha 2 stroke outboard engine that doesn’t start or run well. Once warm and in the water it will idle in nuetral and also in gear. It accelerates in neutral but will die or lack power if I increase throttle while in gear. Engine will somtimes get to top speed but often while running at top speed engine will start to slow rapidly. Engine has full range of operationout when out of the water where there is no load on engine but is still difficult to cold start. Before these recent problems the engine sat up for several months and I had to change the impeller and spark plugs. Spark plugs fire, cylinders have proper pressure of 100, 100, and 110. I cleaned some fuel lines and filters and got new gas.
ANSWER : Every sympton you are describing here can be attributed to fuel starvation due to blocked jets and or water in carbs, when your engine dies does it die with dry plugs, or wet oily ones?

LX 188. Engine suddenly dies. The fluel in the bowel of the fuel filter is empty. If I crank the engine the filter becomes dry and is collapsing some but the engine does not start. When I remove the supply line from the fuel pump to the carberator and crank the enginge there is a strong stream of gas being pumped out. I tap on the carberator ??? is the float is hung not allowing fuel to enter. Cranking the engine with the line off refills the bowel of the gas filter. Reattache line to the carberator===engine starts. Ran perfect for 20minutes then suddenly died. Repeated all the above and engine again started. What to do to fix this? Thanks
