A: On the Model 37®, the serial number is located on the bottom right side of the receiver or on earlier models the chamber end of the receiver between the magazine and barrel.
It`s a sturdy, well-made pump action shotgun with a history of success in the deer stand, the duck blind, the battlefield, and the patrol car. My experience was that the Ithaca is reliable, easy to shoot, and well-suited for various tasks. Its design might be a bit behind, but it`s still a sturdy option.
The beautiful island of Ithaca is famous as the homeland of Odysseus (Ulysses), the hero of the Homeric poem Odyssey. Ithaca is the land where the faithful Penelope waits patiently twenty years for her husband to return from the Trojan War.
A great many of the firearms that Ithaca Gun Company has produced over the last 125+ years are today still in service or at least on display. There is no better place to send your Ithaca guns than to our factory service department in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
The legal requirement for affixing a serial number to firearms is a relatively recent requirement, and usually applies to firearms manufactured domestically or which are imported.
Each gauge of shotgun shoots only shells of the same gauge. For example, 12-gauge guns use only 12-gauge shells. The gauge of a shotgun is usually marked on the rear of the barrel, and the gauge of a shell is marked on the shell as well as on the factory box.
Ithaca Gun Company has been manufacturing our 12 gauge Ithaca shotgun for over 100 years, and our 20 gauge shotgun for nearly as long.
Barrel lengths for the 12-gauge test were 22, 26, and 28 inches, and for the 20-gauge portion I tested 24-, 26- and 28-inch barrels.
It`s a common misperception that a 20 gauge is less powerful than a 12 gauge because it shoots pellets more slowly. Generally speaking, that`s not the case. While a 12 gauge can be loaded to higher velocities at the top end, most 20-gauge shells push pellets just as fast as most 12-gauge shells.
In comparison, the modern Ithaca Ultra Featherlight 20 gauge weighs a mere 5.75 pounds, which is a noticeable difference.
According to Dwellsy, Ithaca is the second most expensive small city in the United States for rent.
According to Homer, Odysseus was king of Ithaca, son of Laertes and Anticleia (the daughter of Autolycus of Parnassus), and father, by his wife, Penelope, of Telemachus.
Thus he gave the chief community in the Town of Ulysses the name Ithaca for the Greek island Ithaki, home of the hero Odysseus, whose Roman name is Ulysses. DeWitt surveyed 49 lots, which he indicated on his 1807 Map of Ithaca.

Most Model 37s procured during the Vietnam War were under Navy contracts. In May 1966, the U.S. Naval Operations Support Group ordered an additional 3,000 Model 37 “Shotguns, Riot Type, Special Purpose, 12 ga.” from Ithaca at a contract price of $37.60 each. They were serial numbered in the 902,000–952,000 range.
Where is Ithaca? Ithaca is located in the Ionian islands in the far western part of Greece. It is very close to Kefalonia and south of Lefkada.
Markings on gun barrels and other gun components that indicate the level of pressure, calibre and standards that a weapon is fit for in service. The drawings vary in style due to differences in the original information.
Barrels do not HAVE a serial number. Rifles and shotguns made before 1968 are not required to have a serial number ANYWHERE under US law. Serial numbers are mostly stamped into the receiver NOT the barrel.
ATF has noted cases where some licensed importers have adopted the same serial number for more than one firearm. These instances of duplication have generally occurred when firearms are received from more than one source.
Barrel stamp – A stamp pressed into the side of the barrel of a firearm that typically states the manufacturer, the gauge or caliber, and the chamber size. Bolt – The part of the action that unloads the spent shell, loads the next shell, and includes the firing pin.
The Federal Gun Control Act of 1968 requires that serial numbers be stamped on all firearms manufactured for sale in the United States since 1968.

Hello, I have an old Tippman A5 (about 5-6 years
ANSWER : You will have to buy a different barrel for the A5, I would suggest ansgear.com, rockstartactical.com, or ebay. Make sure that you get the right threads along with an apex capeable front. I would suggest the sly carbon fibur barrels, or get a autococker barrel and a lapco adapter for your A5. Hope this helps if you have any questions just let me know.
