Experienced athletes share their insights in answering this question:
OK! That often depends on what you’ve done
to this camera since the deletion.

In fact, the deleted files on a camera
memory card are not actually destroyed immediately after the deletion. They are
still there and become invisible. So, as long as you’ve not overwritten them
with anything new, you do have a big chance to get them all back successfully.

So, simply connect this camera to a
computer and try a camera data recovery freeware that can deeply scan your formatted hard drive and restore all
your wanted files back:

backups of everything important in case of similar problems.

Even thought permanently deleted images can`t be easily recovered from the Recycle Bin, they can still be undeleted with the help of a photo recovery software application.
When a computer deletes a file permanently, or the Recycle Bin is emptied, it is removing the reference to the file on the hard drive. Once the file header, or reference, is removed, the computer can no longer see the file. The file is no longer readable by the computer.
Yes, it`s possible to recover a deleted video from a memory card using data recovery software as long as the following conditions are met: The video hasn`t been overwritten. The memory card isn`t physically damaged. The data recovery software tool supports the video file format.
If you`ve been using iCloud to backup the data on your iPhone, you should be able to recover a deleted video from your account. But keep in mind that the deleted files will be stored in the Recently Deleted folder in your account for only 40 days after deletion.

What really happens when you delete a file? When you drag a folder into the trash bin on your desktop, all you`re doing is deleting the file system — the road the operating system takes to retrieve the data. The file still exists on the hard drive and could easily be retrieved with recovery software.

Improve Your Chances of Successful Video Recovery

Stop Using the SD Card. Contrary to what it seems, deleted files physically remain stored on the memory card until new files are written in their place. If you keep using the memory card, you risk overwriting the lost files before you have a chance to recover them.

Where do deleted files go if they are not there in the Recycle bin? Although files are deleted from the Recycle Bin, they still physically exist on the hard drive. They remain there until overwritten by new data. Once overwritten, the only recovery method is by using backup storage media.
Use Google Drive Backup to recover old deleted photos

Google Drive allows users to save data in the cloud and sync files across all their devices. If you use Google Drive, look for your old photos here. Google Drive may contain your old deleted pictures on your Android phone and computer.

Basically, the answer is a bit complicated but here`s the short version: you should assume that data is never truly deleted unless the device has had a complete wipe. To understand why this is this case, you need to look at how data is generally “Deleted” (and those quotes are intentional) from devices.
The answer is yes—by using special tools, they can find data that hasn`t been overwritten yet. And these days, encryption isn`t quite the silver bullet solution it once was. As such, the best way to keep things safe is to never digitally document them in the first place.

ANSWER : Hi,
Is it just the live view from the lens that you can’t see ( totally blank screen), or are the icons visible?
If it still shows the icons but no live view then I suspect the shutter mechanism is stuck over the lens inside the camera.
Have a look at the lens and see if you can see the inner lens? You may have to adjust the zoom to bring the inner lens up to the end of the lens barrel.
If it is stuck then it will require removing and inspecting / cleaning.

Unable to read camera on laptop to load pics
ANSWER : Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won’t run down your camera’s batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system’s drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer’s hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).
