The answer to both questions is: absolutely.

Accelerated Reader supports guided independent reading in face-to-face, remote, and hybrid/blended learning environments.

The Accelerated Reader program is a computerized program that tests reading comprehension. Students select books on their reading level, read independently, and take an independent comprehension test on the computer. Each book is worth a certain number of points based on its length and reading level.
AR quizzes are multiple choice and vary between 5 and 20 questions in length. AR quizzes are assigned a Book Level which is based somewhat on the difficulty of the vocabulary used in the book.
It`s called “points scan free” on Android smart phones. It is free because there are adds, but they`re unobtrusive. The app lets you scan a barcode to see if there is an AR test for it. It will display the reading level, points available, and quiz number for the scanned title.
The test takes approximately 16 minutes to complete. Each questions has a set time limit. A clock will appear at the top of the screen when the time is almost up. If absolutely necessary, you may read the practice questions and possible answers to a student to help get 3 correct responses.
Sorry, unfortunately your child cannot retake an AR quiz. Also, AR quizzes cannot be deleted from your child`s quiz history. That is why it is very important that your child fully understands what they read before they take a test on that book.
Literacy Skills Quizzes may be taken up to three times because students may see different questions during each attempt. If a student accidentally took a quiz while another student was logged in, you can transfer the quiz record to the correct student.
Plan a successful start by: • Reading a short book aloud and taking the quiz as a class. Teaching students to monitor their comprehension as they read. Teaching students how to quiz. Schedule a regular time for reading practice with self-selected AR books.
AR – Accelerated Reader is an online database used to test reading comprehension. After finishing a book, the student takes a short, multiple-choice online quiz. (These quizzes may be available in Spanish or read-aloud versions.)
Book levels range from 0.5-13.5. Children should choose books within their range to make the most progress in their reading. Every book that has an AR Reading Practice Quiz is given a points value.
Download the free Student Accelerated Reader App or STAR Reading App from the iTunes Store. 2.
If you have an iDevice (iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad) you can use the Accelerated Reader™ App to take AR reading quizzes all summer long.
Most books are AR books

There are over 140,000 quizzes accessible to students. That means over 140,000 books are AR books and the number is continually growing.

1st Grade: AR 1.0-1.9.
Elementary Level: Children ages 8 to 12, or 4th through 6th grades. These children read sentences of approximately 10 words, with the maximum number of words being 20. Most books written at this level range between 20,000 and 40,000 words. High School Level: Children ages 13 to 17, or 7th through 12th grades.
Fourth Grade – Level D.
Students may not retake a quiz for a better score. Accelerated Reader keeps track of quiz scores, points earned, and book levels. Students will be allowed to take quizzes during the designated AR time at the school site. Quizzes must be taken on site with a teacher present.
Kids usually take their quizzes in the classroom or library during the designated reading time. Students usually stay in a ZPD range for a set time, like one marking period. At the end of that time, students take a 20-minute reading assessment. It`s used to adjust the books that each student can select.
For Reading Practice Quizzes, Other Reading Quizzes, and Article Quizzes, the default passing scores are 60% to pass a 3-, 5-, or 10-question quiz and 70% to pass a 20-question quiz. (These requirements apply to Teacher-Made Quizzes as well.)
For quizzes with 3, 5, or 10 questions, a child needs to pass a quiz with a score of 60% or higher to earn points. For quizzes with 20 questions, a child needs to pass with a score of 70% or higher to earn points.
Experts say that most children learn to read by age 6 or 7, meaning first or second grade, and that some learn much earlier.
Improves memory

A study published in the Journal Memory found that “reading words aloud made them easier to remember compared to reading them silently.” You might want to use this tip when studying or trying to remember the things on your to do list.

You can search for book titles based on authors, topics, or titles of books. Just type what you want to search for in the blank field above and click Search. You will then be able to sort your search results, select book titles to add to your AR BookBag, print a list of your search results, or start a new search.

2005 honda foreman 400 Shifting problem
ANSWER : Hello
it seems that the control motor may be sticking to lock, and/or the angle sensor is bad or causeing this. something to check is the control motor shaft lock. on the left side of the atv there is an electric motor that is bolted to the front crankcase. take the two bolts that hold it on, off. and remove the motor. take a short screwdriver, and you should be able to turn this shaft freely either way. if you cannot nudge it a little the one way it may be stuck and see if this frees it up. if this was stuck and gets freed up. this may just be a temporary lock, but if it continues the angle sensor may need to be replaced.
if the motor shaft was not locked up then the angle sensor may still be to blame. thank you.

I receive a ‘write error’ message after I take a photo
ANSWER : There should be a little switch on your memory card when you pull it out. Slide the switch the opposite direction. The switch is very small and usually on one of the edges/sides. This is similar to how floppy disks had a write protection on them.

Have a john deere 318 riding lawn mower. it had been hard to start with it taking several turns of the key to do anything, then would not always engage. once engaged, would start with no problem. now when the key is turned, does nothing. checked 2 fuses near battery and tried jumping but no change. suspect starter and or solenoid. john deer shop claims starter price is $505 with almost 4 hrs labor too. is there good way to test to see if starter, solenoid, condenser, switch, etc is problem? what is the easiest way to access and remove the staqrter and solenoid? is there a relatively cheap equivalent to this starter and solenoid?
ANSWER : Usually the shop would make the fixing of an item to look so complicated this is usually to ensure that the customer comes back. To confirm if the starter is the cause of the machine not starting. tell the shop to check the machine if either of the 2 options are the cause of the problem as they will have setup procedures for doing this. Do not settle for cheaper equivalent as this will only cause further damage to the unit. It is rather concrete that starting problems are caused by the starter.Hope this has been helpful?
