Authentic TaylorMade golf clubs have a serial number on the hosel of each wood and on the 5-iron or the 7-iron (depending on the model) in each set of irons. If your club does not have that serial number, it may not be a genuine TaylorMade.
If you make a purchase of new TaylorMade products on eBay or Amazon from an unauthorized seller, there is a much greater chance that the products offered are counterfeit.
Most stickers on authentic clubs are placed on the underside of the shaft up by the grip or down next to the ferrule. Counterfeit clubs usually have this sticker near the shaft band on the top of the shaft so it is easily visible. They figure it will make it look more authentic I suppose.
If there is a very strong rubber-like odour then it could well be a counterfeit. Take a look at the logo/s on the club – are they aligned properly and are there any areas where they look like they could be peeling off?

The serial numbers can be found etched into the back of the hosel on drivers, fairways, hybrids, and irons. Each club is individually serialized with its own unique number.

Driver ball face scars from mishits
ANSWER : Clubs are re-finished all the time. Costs vary based on details of the club and extent of damage. Many drivers have their surface refinished by simply using a fine grit sandpaper/cloth. I have done it to my son’s club purchased used – worked great. I even repainted the groves with acrylic paint; once fully dried, re-sanded with a super fine to remove the over-paint. Looks like brand new.

Taylor made driver repair
ANSWER : You should take it to the closest golf shop like a PGA superstore or Edwin Watts. If you live somewhere that doesnt have those resources then I would go to the local golf course next to you and ask the club pro where he would have his clubs repaired locally. Who knows, they may also do it right there at the course. It will run you a little money to replace the broken shaft, but the work and new grip will be less than $20.00. Just purchased a r9 460 driver—had a original burner(10.5)—I hit it about 240 to 250 with slight fade(I'm left handed). But I felt I was hitting to ball on too high of a trajectery and losing distance. So my new r9 460 is a 9.5.to help lower trajectry.Also—I like hitting my fade off the tee box—-what setting do you think I should start with on my new r9 460? Thanks, Chuck

I bought a pop up. On the way home from buying it popped off hitch (apparently the coupler needs to be replaced)- how do I go about repairing (or does anyone know of a place in southe east WI area that does) the crank system? The front driver side bars are bent. The cable may or may not need repair not sure yet… Any suggestions/info/help is appreciated.
