Authentic TaylorMade golf clubs have a serial number on the hosel of each wood and on the 5-iron or the 7-iron (depending on the model) in each set of irons. If your club does not have that serial number, it may not be a genuine TaylorMade.
If you make a purchase of new TaylorMade products on eBay or Amazon from an unauthorized seller, there is a much greater chance that the products offered are counterfeit.
Most stickers on authentic clubs are placed on the underside of the shaft up by the grip or down next to the ferrule. Counterfeit clubs usually have this sticker near the shaft band on the top of the shaft so it is easily visible. They figure it will make it look more authentic I suppose.
If there is a very strong rubber-like odour then it could well be a counterfeit. Take a look at the logo/s on the club – are they aligned properly and are there any areas where they look like they could be peeling off?
Carlsbad-based TaylorMade Golf Company Inc. is being sold to Centroid Investment Partners, a Seoul, Korea, based private equity firm. Current owner, KPS Capital Partners, originally acquired the golf equipment manufacturer from Adidas AG in 2017 for $425 million.
The serial numbers can be found etched into the back of the hosel on drivers, fairways, hybrids, and irons. Each club is individually serialized with its own unique number.
What Brand Clubs Does Tiger Woods Use? Tiger Woods currently uses a set of clubs from the brand TaylorMade, including the TaylorMade Stealth Plus driver, TaylorMade M3 5-wood, TaylorMade M5 3-wood, TaylorMade P7MB irons, TaylorMade MG3 and MG2 TW Grind wedges, and Scotty Cameron Newport 2 GSS putter.
The driver (also called the 1 wood) has the lowest loft of any golf club. Loft is the angle of the club face that controls trajectory and affects distance. A driver has a loft between 7 and 12 degrees.
Airlines treat golf clubs like any other checked luggage as long as they`re properly stored and tightly stowed. You won`t be charged extra just to bring them on board. Indeed, some airlines will allow your bag as carry-on luggage so long as it weighs less than 50 pounds.
In the context of TaylorMade club, the “A” itself stands for “approach.” In some cases, people will refer to it as an “attack” wedge, but whatever name you go with, it is ultimately a “gap” wedge to fill the distance void between your pitching wedge and sand wedge.”
A standard round of golf consists of 18 holes, and as such most courses contain 18 distinct holes; however, there are many 9-hole courses and some that have holes with shared fairways or greens.
In 2016, Adidas put its TaylorMade golf clubs up for sale to focus on its shoes and clothing as the golf industry was under pressure. It finally found a buyer after a year — but that sale dented Adidas` earnings. Tiger Woods used TaylorMade golf club on Sunday during his historic Masters win.
Founded in 1979, TaylorMade is being sold to a South Korean private equity firm. The parent company of TaylorMade Golf, one of Carlsbad`s largest employers, has agreed to sell the well-known golf equipment maker to South Korean private equity firm Centroid Investment Partners for an undisclosed price.
The “M” actually stands for Multi-Material, meaning that both drivers use a combination of metals to move weight around to get you the optimal amount of distance and forgiveness. TaylorMade`s big highlight on both clubs is the 7-layer Carbon Composite Crown.
With respect to golf clubs, TaylorMade warrants, to the original consumer only, that its golf clubs will be free from defects in materials and workmanship during normal and customary use for 2 years from the original date of purchase from an authorized retailer provided (1) the consumer presents proof of purchase in …
TaylorMade started manufacturing its golf clubs in China in 2007 to reduce costs and stay competitive in the marketplace. Like several other big golf brands brands, TaylorMade has all components made in China and then shipped to its assembly plant in Carlsbad, California.
Adidas bought TaylorMade in 1997 as part of a $1.4 billion acquisition of Salomon S.A. At that time, the company did less than $350 million in annual revenue.
What we found was a new shaft in his driver. McIlroy now has a Fujikura Ventus Blue TR 6 X shaft in his Stealth 2 driver. The change is intended to help him get more spin with his shortened 44-inch driver construction, he said.
TaylorMade Tour Players

Currently there are 57 PGA Tour players among the top players in the world playing TaylorMade clubs or other TaylorMade equipment. This list includes players like Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Viktor Hovland.

Hank is basically saying that most golfers don`t need a 60-degree wedge in their bag. I asked a few golf coaches in my area as well and most of them agreed with Hank. The main reason is that it`s harder to control your distances. Since there`s so much loft, the ball only makes contact with a small section of the club.
You are allowed to carry up to 14 clubs for play (but you can have fewer). There is no restriction on the type of clubs you carry so long as they conform to the Rules – for instance you can carry multiple putters, multiple drivers, or some left-handed clubs and some right-handed clubs.
Airlines and government agencies prohibit you from taking a single golf club on a plane as hand luggage as it could be used as a weapon. You will therefore have to check in your golf club with the rest of your checked luggage but remember to protect it properly.
How much does it cost to take your golf clubs on a plane? It depends on the airline but fees can range greatly. Here is a great baggage fee infographic provided by Ship Sticks that breaks down each airline baggage fee. In general, it`ll cost between $50-$150 depending on the number of bags and total weight.
In the United States, you are allowed to bring golf balls in hand and cargo baggage without any restrictions. There isn`t any limit on how many balls you can pack in your carry-on or checked luggage, so you can pack as many as you`d like.

Driver ball face scars from mishits
ANSWER : Clubs are re-finished all the time. Costs vary based on details of the club and extent of damage. Many drivers have their surface refinished by simply using a fine grit sandpaper/cloth. I have done it to my son’s club purchased used – worked great. I even repainted the groves with acrylic paint; once fully dried, re-sanded with a super fine to remove the over-paint. Looks like brand new.

Taylor made driver repair
ANSWER : You should take it to the closest golf shop like a PGA superstore or Edwin Watts. If you live somewhere that doesnt have those resources then I would go to the local golf course next to you and ask the club pro where he would have his clubs repaired locally. Who knows, they may also do it right there at the course. It will run you a little money to replace the broken shaft, but the work and new grip will be less than $20.00. Good Luck, You may ask the person you were riding with if they pulled a prank on you with the bag falling off, Ive seen it happen. lol.
