The Fiskars pole saw/pruner came with minimal packing, instructions, or assemble required, all which suit me fine. Attaching the blade is as simple as removing the included wing nut, inserting the blade into the slot, and tightening the wing nut. That`s it. You`re ready to go to work!
Fiskars products are made from hardened steel, which allows the blades to slice through materials all season long and stay sharper longer. Even so, sharpening blades at the end of each season will ensure the longevity of tools. Flat files are excellent for sharpening the blades on these Fiskars tools.
Chain-drive gearing mechanism gives you up to 3X more cutting power than traditional designs. Hooked end anchors saw on branch, preventing the blade from slipping out of the groove. Extendable pole saw and pruner makes cutting high branches easier and faster with a sturdy, versatile tree trimming system.
Use a diamond file to sharpen the blade. Draw the file along the cutting edge of the blade, applying medium pressure. Be sure to set the file at the same angle as the factory beveled edge of the blade. Only sharpen in one direction starting at the inside of the blade and working outward.
I find the best way to sharpen pruners is with diamond files. I prefer them to whetstones because they are easy to use, even for a novice. You`ll need three levels of coarseness (known as grits): coarse, fine, and extrafine. The files are inexpensive and will last longer than your pruners.
The term “pole attachment” means any attachment by a cable television system or provider of telecommunications service to a pole, duct, conduit, or right-of-way owned or controlled by a utility.
Cleaning alone is not enough for the long life of garden tools, it`s important you lubricate them to keep them safe from environmental factors that cause their wear and tear and corrosion. The best product to lubricate garden tools is WD-40® Multi-Use-Product.
It`s a good idea to lubricate your garden shears so that they never get stuck or difficult to use. It prevents rust on the metal and also prevents wood from cracking. You can use linseed oil, tung oil, or cooking oil. I personally use a cooking spray as I always have it on hand, and it makes lubricating a breeze.
Your pole saw blade may not rotate if the chain is tensioned too tight. When the pole saw is not being used, the chain should sit on the bar fairly snugly, so that when pulled, it will raise around ¼- ½ an inch off of the bar. A chain that is too tight can cause damage to the crankshaft or other associated parts.
You need to slightly squeeze the handles and then raise the aluminium lever with you thumb and this unlocks the blade mechanism and opens the jaws. Repeat the above in reverse when you have finished using them.
Belt drive uses pulleys and a flexible belt to transmit power, whereas chain drive uses a metal chain and sprockets to transmit power between two spinning shafts. Read this article to find out more about Chain Drive and Belt Drive and how they are different from each other.
Chain drives are most commonly used to transmit power between two components that are at a greater distance, but they may also be used for short distances. They are one of the five most frequently used mechanical power transmission methods alongside shaft couplings, gear drives, belt drives and lead screws.
You can use the terms “pole pruner” and “pole saw” interchangeably. These names may refer to non-powered equipment, such as Corona`s tree saws, or powered equipment, such as Stihl and Echo`s pole pruners. Hand-operated pruners require more effort to use, but they`re typically lighter weight than the powered pole saws.
Most saws use 0.325″, 3/8″, or 0.404″ pitch, with 1/4″ less common. Most consumer saws use a type of 3/8″ chain called “low profile”. We call it Picco. A few older saws use 1/2″ pitch chain.
It helps to easily prune twigs, branches, and leaves that are located above your reach. They provide a long reach to let you cut those dry branches that are located high above and far from your reach. It is an easy to use tool with which you can prune the branches and twigs conveniently to keep your garden attractive.
Think of loppers as the big brother to your basic pruners. These big guys also come in bypass or anvil style.
Carbon steel blades are flexible to allow bending without breaking and are great for cutting wood or plastic. Carbon steel blades are generally the best reciprocating saw blades for trees. High-speed steel blades have durable teeth but are more prone to breakage and last up to five times longer than high-carbon steel.
Simply spray 91% Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol on the blade of hand pruners, loppers, and saws. Wait 20 seconds, then, wipe off. This not only kills fungi and bacteria, but also removes tree and plant sap.
The easiest way to sharpen your axe is by using our Xsharp sharpener. Firstly, choose the angle for your axe blade, and then do between three to five even, horizontal strokes. To make sure the blade is sharp enough, see if you can carve a mark on the surface of a log.
Ethanol or isopropyl alcohol are ideal for sanitizing pruning equipment because blades can simply be wiped or dipped into disinfectant without a prolonged soak. Products sold as rubbing alcohol usually contain 70% isopropyl alcohol and can be used directly from the container. Ethanol can also be used without dilution.
Bypass pruning shears are best used on live wood. They work just like scissors where the blades pass through each other. These pruners are known for giving clean cuts and being easy to use and convenient for gardeners.
As sharpening implies that a new clean edge has been formed on the blade, technically, no cutting kitchen foil will not sharpen your blades. But before you throw away the foil and blades, it should be said that tin foil can extend the life of a dull blade.
Swimming pool pole clip keeps the vacuum pole from sliding in the pool during vacuum by simply snapping one side of the clip to a pool ladder or rail and snapping a vacuum pole into the other side of the clip.

My basketball hoop broke and I have a pole cemented in the ground. Can you buy just the hoop/backboard itself and attach to the pole or do I have to cut the pole and start over?
ANSWER : Sorry I know nothing about basketball but it seems a crying shame to cut down the pole even if you can’t find a replacement hoop and board.

I have faced many similar things and I find remembering the wise old saying “in order to get the right answer it is important to first ask the right question”…

I suggest you ask around those who should know such things – the coach at the local schools, local teams. If you don’t get satisfaction then why not ask your local repair shop or fabricator if they can make what you need at a reasonable cost.

ANSWER : The 2 longest of the poles go in an x over the center of the tent and the 2 shorter ones go arch to the sides. http://www.wenzelco.com/details.aspx?NavID=412shows a picture very similar to your tent. If you go to image 2 it shows it with out the fly. now if you got 2 sets of 4 poles, 2 long and 2 short, and one set is all aluminum, then I would go with the aluminum set.
