Not that I am aware of, the Bounty Hunter pinpointer is actually one of the best pinpointers on the market for under $100. If it is not picking up to the depth of at least an 1″ than it may not be working properly and you might want to send it in for repair to the manufacturer (First Texas Products) it has a 5 year warranty.
