Keep Your Dartboard Dry
Never use water on your dartboard. You may see some people saying it`s fine and swearing that they use water on their dartboard and nothing bad has happened, but there are no real positives to using water on your dartboard. All it does is introduce a ton of risks that can cause permanent damage.
Keep the board away from liquids
Liquids weaken the fiber components of the dartboard. Therefore, avoid cleaning your board with water or any liquid. Use a dry cloth or a blower to remove any dust that may have accumulated on the dartboard.
You need to rotate your dartboard because dart play generates an incredible amount of wear to certain areas of the board. Rotating your dartboard moves the damaged segments to an area of the board that receives less play, allowing the wear and tear to be evenly distributed around the dartboard.
Push the NM sheathed cable through the connector from the outside of the box and secure it. The Plastic Cable Connectors also snap into the box, but require an extra step. Place the separate piece of the fitting into the slot, located in the center of the fitting, then clamp down onto the cable with pliers.
Each player starts with a score of 501 and takes turns to throw 3 darts. The score for each turn is calculated and deducted from the players total. Bullseye scores 50, the outer ring scores 25 and a dart in the double or treble ring counts double or treble the segment score.
Ideally, you want your darts to hit the board at a perfectly flat angle, or with the flight pointing slightly upwards, not more than 5-10 degrees. Additionally, as longer shafts can have a tendency to “fish-tail” through the air, darts with longer shafts may benefit from the stabilizing effect of larger dart flights.
Neglected tips are probably behind more than a few bad streaks and disappointing performances. The bottom line is that you must sharpen the tips of your darts. Artists can`t draw with dull pencils. The same principle applies behind the oche.
The lower end of the bristle dart board category has offerings at around $30.00, but the upper end can go as high as $120.00. This broad range in price is due to the high variability in quality, with more expensive boards using higher quality fibers, a tighter fiber core compression, etc.
Strength Of Your Throw
The harder you throw your dart, the less curve it is going to have. This is one of the most important factors when it comes to fine-tuning your accuracy. If your dart is dropping at the end of the flight, you may need to throw harder or try a lighter dart.
There is no doubt that missing shots are common and that they can significantly damage your wall. Sadly, it can create lots of holes, and dings that will look worse as time goes on. As the paint starts to chip off, your wall will look like crap. You can`t depend on your aim to be precise all the time.
If you like to throw with a lot of force, a lighter dart may be the way to go. If you have a more relaxed style of throwing, heavier is probably better. If your dart is going higher than your intended aim, try a heavier dart. Th heavier dart will drop the trajectory down a bit, putting it closer to where you want it.
While darts is not a physically strenuous activity in its nature, it does pose some physical challenges – hand-eye coordination, improved aim, consistency, and muscle discipline. For all these reasons, darts does fit the official definition of the word sport and passes the test.

Never run two cables into the box through the same knockout opening with pre-installed cable clamps. Each cable requires its own knockout opening and clamp. For installed clamps (whether they`re metal or plastic), no more than 2 wires should be installed in each connector of this type.

When you reach the dart tip (the pin), sew off the edge of the fabric. The short stitches won`t unravel and replace the need to backtack or tie the ends together. The trick of sewing along the fold of the fabric for a few stitches helps to get a nice smooth finish and avoids a pointy Madonna vibe to your darts.
The actual force of your throw should be generated with a flick of your wrist. Once you release the dart, your follow-through should be smooth and controlled and follow the natural motion of your arm. Messing up your follow-through is one of the most common mistakes.
Smaller flights cause less drag meaning the darts move through the air more quickly. Larger flights have the opposite effect causing more drag and slowing the dart down. It is advisable to use larger flights if your throw is gentler or if you throw with a lob.
