According to traditional theory, drags should be set to between one quarter and one third of the line`s rated breaking strength.
Line size can be a drag

The short of it a heavier, thicker line will not cast as well as a thinner, lighter line will. So 10-pound line will throw a lure much farther than 20-pound line will. There is less drag on the line in both the guides and in the air.

Tightening the drag makes it harder for the fish to run and take line, while having a loose drag makes it easier. If the drag is set to loose, line will easily spool off the reel, and fighting the fish is inefficient. When the drag is set too tight, the line can`t go out fast enough, resulting in breaking off.
Setting the Drag for Braided Line

With braided lines up to 20-pound-test, set the drag at 15 percent of the line`s breaking strength. With 30- through 65-pound braid, set it at 20 percent. With braid that tests at more than 65 pounds, go with 25 percent.

For best results, the drag setting should be able at the point where the line holds a third to half of its weight before moving (e.g., a 20-pound line should not move until the hook holds seven to ten pounds).
Reels should have a minimum frame rate of 30 FPS (frames per second) and minimum resolution of 720 pixels. We want to create the best possible experience for everyone on Instagram. That means reel that don`t follow our Community Guidelines may be removed from Instagram.
The drag should be adjusted depending on the size of the fish you are targeting. If you are targeting smaller fish, a light drag is usually recommended, so the line does not break. However, a higher drag setting for larger or heavier fish will help prevent them from breaking off your line.
I like to achieve the tension by putting the spool in an empty box or bucket and holding the line lightly between my fingers as it is wound on. For a spin reel with mono, you want to leave a 2-3mm gap to the edge of the spool to ensure that you are not over spooling the reel.
max drag is the maximum force that a reel is designed to safely operate at. Line weight is a recomended range to safely use on a rod. The only one of these that is a set breaking point is the line so if reel is chosen with a maximum drag below this figure the line will not break even at max drag.
Most braided lines have a specific gravity less than one which causes them to float. The specific gravity of water is one, so any line with a specific gravity of less than one is going to float. Many anglers don`t know whether their line is floating or sinking.
If the line is coming off the spool counter clockwise it is right. If it is coming off the spool clockwise, you need to flip it over. Keep in mind the labels are put on filler spools last. So the label side does not necessarily mean you have the spool right side up for spooling.
To begin with it`s important to fill your reels full. Casting reels should be between an eighth of an inch from the top and all the way to the top. If you get too much line on them, you`ll get a weird sound when you cast. Spinning reels should be all the way full, right to the top.
The great news is that there is a simple solution when you notice your braided line not being evenly distributed on the spool. It`s simply to remove the top of the spool and adjust the washers as shown in the video. It could mean taking away washers, adding more, or substituting for different size washers.
Gear Ratio:

A 7:7:1 gear ratio is perfect for this. It can reel quickly, and it won`t start skipping smaller fish across the surface. However, you will want at least 30 pounds of drag to ensure you can handle the bass you hook into.

The metal washers are easy to clean – merely wipe them off with a clean rag. If rusted, remove it with steel wool or fine sandpaper. Once the felt is dry, work a few drops of reel oil into each. Be careful not to apply too much and never apply grease!
The rule of thumb for drag setting is 30% (or 1/3) of the line breaking strength. So for example, if you are using a 15 lb test line, then the optimal drag for your reel should be around 5 pounds.
Reels videos have a maximum resolution of 1080p, which means that even if you upload a 4K video, it will be automatically downsized to 1080p by Instagram.
Add relevant hashtags to your Reels to ensure they get the reach they deserve. They`re another vital factor of Instagram SEO. Hashtags are to Insta what keywords are to Google search. Using hashtags also helps with keyword search, so your Reel is more likely to show up when people search for a relevant topic.
Aspect Ratio and Resolution

To keep the reels at their highest resolution, you must frame them using the recommended settings. According to the recommended settings of Instagram reels: Aspect Ratio must be 9:16. Resolution must be 1080 x1920p.

The lever drag system is created for catching fish that are more than 50 lbs. However, if you are going after fishes below 50 lbs or 40 lbs, it is better to go for the star drag system. It is more possible to break the line when you are using the star drag system because you can over-tighten it.

The lever drag washer lives on the end of the spool, the star drag`s washers live inside the main gear. Bigger spool diameters give a bigger washer diameter for lever drags; a bigger main gear diameter has the same effect for star drags.
Drag is a gender-bending art form in which a person dresses in clothing and makeup meant to exaggerate a specific gender identity, usually of the opposite sex. While drag`s main purpose has been for drag performance and entertainment, it is also used as self-expression and a celebration of LGBTQ+ pride.

Penn Spin Reel will not lock after casting
ANSWER : On the front of the spool there is a device to turn to set the drag. Torn it tighter and tighten it until slightly below the breaking point of your fishing line. It isn’t a critical adjustment, it just keeps your line from breaking while trying to land a fish.

Machine will stop adjusting resistance. On start up the machine will usually work. I can go through the calibration procedure and it will calibrate and work normally for 4 or 5 resistance adjustments. It will then stop adjusting. It acts like there is a cable pulled and refuses to adjust, even though I am not getting the warning telling me to “Release cable”
I have modified the wiring harness so that the wires do not fall off from the stepper motor, so this is not the problem. If I shut the machine down and leave it for several minutes, it will come back and work normal again… for a while. I am wondering if there is a problem with the sensors that are detecting a cable pull? Is there a way to disable those sensors to see if that is the problem
ANSWER : I would think that your problem has possibly to do with a faulty power supply, component, see to my mind it is a thermal problem as it heats up,it goes faulty? The Voltage changes and it goes out of spec.. When left to cool, it then is OK… Usually, & from my experience this is a thermal problem. To see obtain some Freeze Spray, from radio Shack or similar, and spray components on the main power board, and others too, use it on any large heat sinked components and see if when you do this the fault clears. Then replace that component(s).

Or as you suggest the sensors that feed the inputs maybe with sensors though one has little option but to replace them and see if this clears the problem.
