This is the simplest of games. Each player starts with a score of 501 and takes turns to throw 3 darts. The score for each turn is calculated and deducted from the players total. Bullseye scores 50, the outer ring scores 25 and a dart in the double or treble ring counts double or treble the segment score.
It is a double out game, which means that players must hit a double that makes their score exactly zero to win the game. In case of a bust the player`s score from the previous turn is restored.
Getting Your Score Down in 501
This is generally done by shooting for the triple 20 as it is the highest-scoring target on the dartboard. Three darts in the triple 20 scores you 180 points, which is the highest that can be obtained in one round.
A player will always be allowed to throw all three of their darts. or throw fewer than three darts. throw counts if it misses the board and bounces out, or if it misses the board completely. A player may not throw any darts over again.
So, What is a perfect game of darts? A perfect game of darts or a perfect “leg” happens when a player is able to check out from 501 using the fewest possible number of darts, which is nine. Hence the name, nine-dart finish.
When the target is 501, the minimum number of darts needed to reach it is nine. For example, one way to achieve a nine-dart finish is to score 60 (triple 20) on each of the first seven throws, then a 57 (triple 19) on the eighth, and lastly a 24 (double 12) on the ninth.
In the game of 501, players start with a score of 501 points and must work their way down to exactly zero. However, if a player`s score goes below zero, they “bust” and their turn ends with no points scored.
In the game of 501 and 301, the bullseye does count as a double. Meaning if you have a score of 50 remaining, you can finish the game by landing your dart in the bullseye.

The highest score is triple 20 (60 points)!
In the dart golf game, the bullseye is used as part of a three-part tie breaker that also includes the treble twenty. Hitting three bullseyes in darts is known as the “Alan Evans shot“.

You`ll be ok. If your points go below zero, it`s called a BUST, the round ends there. You must start again with 12 points in the next round. When the remaining points go below zero, it`s called a BUST.

The PDC World Darts Championship has had nine perfect legs in 25,982 legs and 1319 matches. A slightly lower rate of one in every 2887 legs (coincidentally one in 147 matches.)
Each player starts with three legs and players lose a leg every time they fail to beat the score of the player immediately preceeding them. The winner is the last player left with any legs.
With the expertise of some darts players, a nine darter is easily achievable after throwing a few accurate arrows and a game can therefore be won very quickly. So by starting on 501 instead of 500, it limits the chances of the action being over very quickly.
One of the most fun and challenging aspects of 01 dart games is doubling out. This means that in order to win an 01 game, such as 301 or 501, you must subtract to the exact score of “0” by hitting the double ring of a number.
With three scoring darts on a conventional dartboard the lowest possible score is 3 and the highest score is 180. There are some impossible scores like 179.
Once your score goes ahead, you win, if your opponent closes out all of their numbers before you pass their score, they would win. In case of a tie score the first person to close out their numbers would win the game. Object: The “01” Dart games are amongst the most popular of English Dart games.
If you mean during a game of 501 (or any of the x01 games) when you need double 1 to win but hit single 1 then the player busts and their score returns to whatever it was at the start of the visit.
Several players did score a 240 maximum during the event and Phil Taylor hit a 188 checkout (Q20-Q20-D14).
Extending this to one dart, since 50 is the highest one dart out, everything below 50 that can`t be taken out in one dart is a bogey: 49, 48, 47, 46, 45, 44, 43, 42, 41, 39, 37, 35, 33, 31, 29, 27, 25, 23, 21, 19, 17, 15, 13, 11, 9, 7, 5, 3.
170 is the highest possible finish. 169, 168, 166, 165, 163, 162 and 159 are lower than 170, but cannot be checked with three darts.
