The charging system on a Honda TRX 400EX and most other ATVs is made up of a stator that provides AC power; a regulator/rectifier unit that converts the AC power to DC power and sends it to the battery; and a battery that stores the power and feeds it to the various electrical systems.

It`s important to make sure the battery is charged up before you shut the ATV down and put it away.
The stator is the coil of wire housed inside the engine case. A magnet on a shaft spins within the stator, creating alternating current (AC). That current travels along fairly heavy gauge wire through the case and into the rectifier/regulator which converts it to DC power, and at a consistent output.
Its failure is most commonly related to the normal wear and tear of the commutator which is the component responsible for current flow. The causes of failure may also include installation errors. The alternator may also break down because of perfectly normal wear and tear of its parts.
Charging systems deliver electrical energy to power your vehicle while it`s running and sustains the battery`s charge. Your vehicle`s charging system consists of three parts: the battery, the alternator, and the voltage regulator. The battery supplies the necessary electrical power to start your engine.

ATVs and quads usually require 12v batteries that are often suitable for use in motorcycles as well. A power sports battery needs to provide the high output needed to start your four-wheeler. What differentiates these batteries is cold cranking amp, or CCA, output.
The simple answer to this question is yes, your car`s battery will start to charge as long as your engine is running. As long as the electrical systems aren`t draining the battery quicker than the alternator is charging it, it is technically possible to completely charge your battery using this method.
Is it possible to restore dead ATV batteries that have been completely discharged? In most cases, yes, you can use a multi-mode smart charger to bring your ATV battery back from the dead.
So what are the most likely reasons your ATV battery keeps dying, and what can you do to fix this? Your ATV battery keeps dying because it has been sitting for too long, the battery is old, the battery can`t hold a charge anymore, the stator needs to be replaced, or your fluid levels are low.

I have a volvo penta md7a marine diesel engine fitted in my sailing boat. Recently, I changed the bottom sea **** which was almost blocked. Apparently the new sea **** is working well as it should. But this week with no apparent reason and without use of engine, I noticed that the cooling system water cup (the recipient which connects with the sea **** hose and the water pump hose) is empty and it Im not able to keep it full like it was before.The water vanishes every time I tried to fill it up in order to keep the water running throught the system. However the waterpump seems to be working. But almost no water is coming out of the exhaustor, of course, just a few drops once in a while. What might be going on ?? Thanks.
ANSWER : I don’t have a picture of the installation, but I can imagine a water filter above the water line with an improperly fitted cover and an air leak that lets the seawater drain out – losing the prime. Old Swampy in New Hampshire

I have a wildwood le 25bhbs and the only towing lights working are my signal lights. can’t get running lights or brake lights to work. I saw where it looked like the towing harness may have been pinched. So I repaired that, but, they still do not work. Any ideas? Is there a fuse somewhere I need to check? Do I need to hook the trailer up to my trailer hitch before they will work? Is there a wiring diagram or repair manual somewhere I can get? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
ANSWER : There should be an inline fuse, check that first.

My pool filtering system has been installed for 5 years and has worked well. It has a Jacuzzi 1.5hp pump and a Hayward s244t filter with heater and a salt generator. I have never replaced the sand. It has had a problem 2 times in the past week at startup in the morning. It appears there is blockage in the filter preventing flow through it because when I open the pump backet, it is pressurized. If I then backflush or rinse the filter, everything appears to work fine. Then I switch it back to normal filter operation and it works ok. I have a timer on the filter and the problem only occurs first in the morning when the timer starts it. Any ideas?
ANSWER : Assuming you don’t have too much sand in it or something like that, because it used to work fine, my first guess would be that you are not setting the rinse cycle after the back flush, and the same dirt is coming right back into the filter.{ … RINSE—After backwashing, with pump off, set valve toRINSE. Start pump and operate for about 1/2 to 1 minute.This ensures that all dirty water from backwashing isrinsed out of the filter to waste, preventing possible returnto the pool. The control screen operates by a battery which is charged by cycling. We were in a car accident and it was unused long enough to run down the battery. When this happened before, we cycled till it was charged and then it worked. Now though, it is stuck at a level that we can hardly peddle at–not long enough to charge the battery. Any solution?
ANSWER : Hello.

You may need to pull the battery out and take it to a re-conditioner. In Australia a company called battery world can test the battery, re-condition or replace if needed.
if there is a way of using a external charger on it this may give you enough power to adjust the pedal resistance, be sure to disconnect the battery from the bike before charging and use the correct type of charger for that batteries voltage and chemistry
You can try manually releasing the pedal pressure by removing the wheel and releasing the resistance wheel or belt. With out a model type I do not know exactly how to do this, although it is fairly easy to see when the main wheel is off the bike.
