Replacement belt is designed for Sanitaire 600, 1400, 1900, 2000, 2100, 4000, 5000, 6400 and 7500 series upright vacuums. Belt powerfully rotates the brusher bars in your upright vacuum. For optimum performance, change the belt at least every 12 months.
If the brushroll is sticking, it will cause too much friction and put too much strain on the belt. Remove the brushroll and clean all hair, string, and lint from the brushroll bearings. If the vacuum cleaner brush still doesn`t spin after you clean the brushroll, consider replacing the brushroll.
If too much hair, string, or lint is caught in the brushroll, the brushroll can get stuck. If the brushroll is stuck, it will put too much strain on the belt and may cause the belt to break. Remove the brushroll and clean out any debris from the bearings. After replacing the brushroll, make sure that it turns freely.

How do I change belt on Eureka Capture
ANSWER : Lay your vacuum completely on its back on the floor, like you are going to vacuum under a bed, then turn it over on its “belly”, you should be able to see the bottom of the unit, where there are 2 small wheels ….. look where embedded in the plastic are #’s 1-4 there are 4 screw pockets, 2 in front and 2 in rear, those are deep, so you need a phillips screwdriver with a long skinny barrel to get in the deep pocket.remove those 4 screws, stand the unit upright, then grasp both sides of the “hood” of the unit remove the the plastic cover, you should see the belt on the right side as you face the vacuum. If the belt is broken, just pull up on the brushroll , removing it from the base. Clean any hair, thread, etc.. from the brushes, and ends , place new belt over the motor shaft (looks like a nail sticking out toward the back of the belt area) slide the brushroll through the other loop of belt in the belt groove, then slide the stop sign shaped end pieces in the grooves in base , pressing down until it is seated in place, gently turn the brushroll with fingers watching the belt making sure it is staying straight , then place the hood of vacuum back in place, make sure it fits correctly, recline handle again all the way down, roll vacuum over again to place screws back in bottom of unit.

Eureka vacuum won’t stay running
ANSWER : There is a relay in the system. Based on your description it sounds like yours is bad. The cloth filter is a big pain to remove. I would recommend burrowing a shop vac from a friend and cleaning it that way.

TC5000 and after extended use I smell burning and upon removing the belt cover and drive belt I felt of the motor on the motor side of the drive pulley and it was ”red-hot”, obviously the source of the smell of the burning. The motor spins freely without any rubbing noise. The drive pulley (motor side) and the tread pulley appear to be alligned. One curious thing is that the threaded motor output shaft is recessed about 3/8” from the outside edge of the pulley. Could it be the bearing on the pulley side of the motor? I am dumbfounded as to what the solution might be. Note that I could not enter the exact product as my model seemed to be invalid. My model is the TC5000. Thanks [email protected]
ANSWER : Just because it spins freely doesnt mean it cant have a shorted winding. Id send it back where it came from or at least replace the motor.
