How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?
We offer a diverse range of insights on identifying and resolving common problems in sports. Our sources encompass academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays shared by seasoned athletes. :
When the blade is in the fully closed position, a detent or depression in the blade is engaged by a ball partially embedded or set in the liner. The lateral spring load of the liner pushing the ball into the detent provides a way of keeping the blade in the fully closed position.
The Obverse side of a blade is the front side. The point is on the left side, with the edge facing down. The Reverse is the opposite side of the knife.
Tightness or stiffness in a knife comes from several sources and each needs to be handled a slightly different way. The typical causes are: Rust or aging, goop stuck on the knife, friction and tight hinges.
Some people believe that bad things will happen if a knife falls and sticks into the floor. Some knife owners also believe that you should never ever close a knife if someone else has opened it because it is bad luck.
They are also known as jackknives (jack-knife), folding knives, EDC knife, or may be referred to as a penknife, though a penknife may also be a specific kind of pocketknife.
A fuller is a rounded or beveled longitudinal groove or slot along the flat side of a blade (e.g., a sword, knife, or bayonet) that serves to both lighten and stiffen the blade.
So, now that that`s cleared up (i.e. you definitely don`t want dull kitchen knives), we can get back to the question: Can kitchen knives be too sharp? The easy answer to this is no. Kitchen knives are meant to be sharp and the sharper they are, the better they work.
If the steel is too soft, the edge will wear away quickly, or it will fold over easily, making the knife become dull after a few uses. This kind of knife will need to be sharpened frequently, and it will also wear down quickly during the sharpening process.
A metal block (shaped approximately like a peanut) is mounted to a pivot that is parallel to and behind the stop pin. Curved springs force the block downward in an arc when the blade is opened or closed, engaging the back of the tang into a locked position when open, and creating opening tension when closed.

A locking system positioned on the back of the handle that uses a rocker arm that pivots in the center. A lug on one end of the arm engages a notch in the blade`s tang to lock the blade open. BALL BEARING LOCK. A patented compressive lock that wedges a ball bearing between a fixed anvil and the blade tang.
A locking blade knife, also known as a folding knife, includes a mechanism that locks the blade in place, both when open and closed. When closed, the knife`s sharp edge is concealed in the handle. Most consider a locking blade safer than a fixed blade, especially for young or new knife owners.

Hi,
I just assembled my new Waterrower Natural. Quite simple. Haven’t filled it with water yet however. I encountered a strange thing: when truning within the tank, one blade slightly touches the tank on one specific place. This doesn’t only give a scratching sound, but of course also hinders the free movement of the blades and. Is this a hopeless case or is it a known phenomenon that can be easily solved (e.g. by filling the tank with water, or by reajusting the blades or so)?

I have a 2011 Sportsman 550 EPS Touring (2 up) with a glacier 2 plow set up. I have used it only this winter and already bent the blow frame, worn out the blade guides (the pads that keep the plow edge just off the ground) broken the winch gears (stripped) and broken the cable like 10 times. I went through two Polaris winches and then bought the Warn brand. The guys at the shop told me to go with the synthetic rope instead of the cable. That broke and got all caught up in the winch. The steel cable has broken so many times I lost count. What am I missing here? This plow set up has the support bars so close to the ground it seems problematic. Help please.

ANSWER : Your picking the blade up too high. I forget myself and have done the same thing and also broken the winch cable. You have to make a consious mental effor to not over pick the blade! The true answer is a limit switch on the winch that cuts power when the winch hits a preset height.I have searched the internet and found that such a device does NOT exist! I may build on myself, I don’t think it would be hard to do. ANYWAY THE ANSWER IS TO STOP THE WINCH BEFORE IT GETS TOO HIGH AND TRYS TO WRAP THE PLOW AROUND THE WINCH!
