A larger frame is better for beginners in tennis. A larger frame makes it easier to increase the power of your shots. A more flexible racket is better for beginners than those with more experience. Criteria for Choosing a Tennis Racquet
Skill level: Your skill level, or tennis ability, will determine the type of racquet you need. Beginner racquets have bigger frames that help with power while more advanced racquets offer better control and come in smaller sizes.
A child aged between 2 and 4 should pick up a 19-inch frame, and a junior between 4 and 6 should be using a 21-inch frame. Kids between 6 and 8 should be playing with a 23-inch racquet and kids from 8 to 10 would probably be best suited to a 25-inch frame. Kids between 9 and 11 should be looking at a 26-inch racquet.
Lastly, if you usually play every day of the week, you should have at least 3 rackets. This will make sure that even if one of your rackets accidentally breaks and another one`s strings break, you will still be able to continue playing.

What is L1, L2, L3 in tennis racket sizes? That just refers to the size of the handle on the racket. The larger the number (L5) the larger the handle on the racket. The smaller the number, of course, the smaller the handle. In general, we recommend ladies should choose grip sizes between L1 and L2.
But assuming you don`t intentionally splinter it, a new racquet should last at least two years before you have to start worrying about performance-affecting fatigue. This two-year rule applies to club players who play two or more times a week.
We don`t recommend that adults play with junior racquets, which are designed for kids. Our adult racquets are designed for a range of abilities, from complete beginners all the way to advanced players, and include lightweight frames. We`re sure that adults will find a racquet that suits them in our adult range.
If there isn`t enough room for your index finger, the grip is too small. If there is space between your finger and palm, the grip is too big. A too-small grip requires more muscle strength to keep the racquet from twisting in your hand. Prolonged use of a grip that`s too small can contribute to tennis elbow problems.
Therefore, the best place to store your tennis racket is somewhere at room temperature if possible. Besides, keep in mind to store it in a place where it is unlikely to get crushed by the weight of other things. In other words, you should avoid storing the racket at the bottom of a stack of bulky items.
Ruler Test: To measure grip size using the ruler test, first place the fingers of your racket hand together, then align a ruler`s edge with the the bottom horizontal crease of your palm. Next, measure to the tip of your ring finger, this measurement is your grip size.
The best method for determining the grip size of a tennis racket is to measure the length between the tip of the ring finger (on your hitting hand) and the second line on your palm.
