The Remington Model SP-10 is a gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun chambered for 10 gauge 31⁄2-inch (8.9 cm) Magnum shells. It was produced by Remington Arms from 1989 to 2010.
The Remington Model 10 is a pump-action shotgun designed in 1908 by John Pedersen for Remington Arms. It has an internal striker within the bolt and a tube magazine which loaded and ejected from a port in the bottom of the receiver. An updated version, the Model 29, was introduced in 1930 with improvements made by C.C.
The shotgun from our best estimation was manufacture between 1930-31, bearing the serial number of 60XX. According to the official information released by Remington, these were offered in several grades, but this shotgun was not assigned a grade possibly dating before grades were introduced for this model.
Although there are only two models of 10 gauge shotgun currently in production, you can still find Remington SP 10s and Ithaca Mag 10s on the used market, as well as the single-shot H&R/NEF 10-gauge turkey gun.
The Model SP-10 weighs eleven pounds. The weight can seem a bit heavy compared to other shotguns, especially if you have to do a lot of walking, but the weight also helps absorb the recoil.
Many people think that the company`s downfall has more to do with management problems than issues in the firearm business. The reality is that while Remington was falling into debt, the gun maker was also hit with a lawsuit filed on behalf of some the victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook school massacre.
Sturm, Ruger & Co. purchased the Marlin Firearms division of the Remington Outdoor Company in 2020. Founded in 1816 by Eliphalet Remington (as E. Remington and Sons) in Ilion, New York, it was one of the oldest gun makers in the US and claimed to be the oldest factory in the US that still made its original product.
REMINGTON DATES OF MANUFACTURE

Remington made use of a two or three letter Firearms Identification Code that can be located on the left side of the barrel, just ahead of the frame. The first letter of the code identifes the month, the other letter(s) identify the year.

The Remington 1911 R1 is a semi-automatic pistol modeled after the classic Colt 1911 which has served the US armed forces for over 100 years. Like the Colt 1911, the Remington 1911 is single action only, and has a grip safety and a manually operated thumb safety; it also has a Colt Series 80 style firing pin safety.
At the time of its introduction, the Model 29 was the most powerful production handgun, although it was later overtaken by handguns chambered for the even larger . 454 Casull and . 50 Action Express cartridges. It was made famous worldwide by association with the fictional character “Dirty Harry” Callahan.
The . 500 S&W Magnum is the most powerful standardized, mass produced handgun chambering by virtue of its considerable muzzle energy (incidentally, a lengthened form of the cartridge, the . 500 Bushwhacker, is considered the most powerful custom handgun chambering).
Why are revolvers so expensive than semi-autos considering the fact that they look so simple to manufacture? Typically, a revolver is manufactured from steel, or a combination of steel and aluminum, scandium, titanium, or other expensive element.
The overhead cost of production for a limited run, as well as the item not selling for a long time means that the price has to be higher for a company to make a profit. Then with few produced, sellers have less competition, either new or used, so they can demand a higher price. What is the lowest gauge shotgun?
A door made from 10-gauge (. 135) steel is over twice as strong as one made from 12-gauge (. 106) steel even though it is only . 029 thicker (see Steel Strength Chart).
You can still find a 4 gauge shotgun as a used gun every so often, and they are legal to own and shoot in the United States, although they cannot be used for hunting. In England, a few people still hunt with them on occasion. A very few are still made as high-end, custom guns.
10 gauge – A heavy firearm with a forceful recoil, the 10 gauge is the largest legal shotgun in the United States. It`s not as popular as it once used to be, though it is still in use. It`s used primarily for hunting waterfowl, such as goose and duck.
Remington is making rifles again, and its new Model 700 might set the standard for accuracy and quality. Ron Spomer, a prominent outdoors journalist based in Idaho, offers the first detailed look at the new Model 700 on his Ron Spomer`s Outdoors page on Facebook.
Remington`s troubles date back more than a decade to 2007, when the company was acquired by the private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management. At first, Remington`s sales surged under Cerberus as demand for guns across the country was booming.
The most common type of shotgun used for this purpose is the manually operated, slide-action/pump-action type like the Remington M870 or Mossberg 590A1. The latter is currently the pump-action of choice for US armed forces, and both have seen service with other militaries.
Remington pistols are available in compact, full-size and subcompact classes. These world-class pistols are sold in myriad calibers including . 380 auto, . 40, .
Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc., better known by the shortened name Ruger, is an American firearm manufacturing company based in Southport, Connecticut, with production facilities also in Newport, New Hampshire; Mayodan, North Carolina; and Prescott, Arizona.
Eliphalet Remington II moved his barrel making operation from the forge site down to 200 acres alongside the new Erie Canal. This is the location of the present Remington factory in Ilion, New York.
As mentioned earlier, Remington guns are well worth more now than they ever have been in the past. Whether you`re a collector or a shooter, these guns are sure to hold their value for many years to come.
The Remington Model 870 is a pump-action shotgun manufactured by Remington Arms Company, LLC. It is widely used by the public for shooting sports, hunting and self-defense, as well as by law enforcement and military organizations worldwide.

I have even called Remington’s repair shop in Or. and they can’t guarantee it will work as he said it was nothing but a cheap rifle from Remington. I will be sending to Remington’s repair shop and if they can not repair it what rights do I have to get my money back? ANSWER : I am not sure about that in your location, meaning laws depend and vary from location to location.
But with your problem I guess a simple look on the paper works or the invoices or something and trying to find the “fine prints” or statements regarding about return and exchange policies, or their warranty coverage. Should you find them and it states coverage “on your side”, well I may suggest you do have a right to claim a refund or a new stock, but if it states otherwise, and of course you have already signed the paper works, I think you may not be eligible for any refund or claim whatsoever.

It is always stated in the paper works you sign when purchasing items,(this is what happens here in my location), so its important to read them well, specially the rule “read between the lines” comes into place, specially the “fine print” or the text or sentences written in a very small, often unreadable with your eyes not squinting.

But a good talk between them and you could always results in a good compromise or agreement both beneficial for you and them.
