How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

Electric fireplaces contain some sort of light source, whether it`s LED lights or halogen bulbs. They use electricity in order to generate the flames effects by reflecting light from a bulb or LED onto the front of the fireplace in a specific pattern that mimics the look of flickering flames.

Most fireplaces have one bulb, but you can check the settings in your unit to see if it requires more. Remove the access cover and replace your bulb. Most fireplaces use the E12 bulb but confirm with the manual of your unit.
If your fireplace won`t ignite, even though you see the embers glow, there may be an issue with the flame generator drive motor. You can try opening up the back panel and seeing if the motor is running. If it`s not, it will probably need replacing. If the glow is very dim, there may be a loose connection in the wiring.
WHAT`S THE LIFESPAN OF AN ELECTRIC FIREPLACE? Electric fireplaces can last up to 20 years. And the light bulbs will need replacing every two years or so Electric fireplaces tend to have longer lifespans than gas and wood-burning fireplaces.
Most electric fireplaces use LED lights, which on average will last around ten years, meaning you won`t have to constantly change them out.
If left on throughout the night while you`re sleeping, the electric fireplace could overheat and start a fire. This is also why you should never leave your electric fireplace unattended at any time while the heater is on.
Heat lamp bulbs are usually red in color, as the red color of the glass dampens some of the brightness from the filament. The red coating filters out much of the shorter wavelength (1nm – 400nm) light but allows red light (650nm-700nm) and near infrared light (700nm – 1000nm) to pass through.
Heat lamps are special types of incandescent bulbs. They are designed to generate as much heat as possible through infrared radiation, so they are often called infrared lamps, infrared heaters, or IR bulbs.
Electric fireplaces are not designed to accommodate real fires and therefore do not produce real flames. This is one of the biggest reasons why many homeowners opt for an electric fireplace; without real flames, there is much less to be concerned about regarding safety and mess.
If you want to reset your electric fireplace, simply follow these steps: Find the reset button on the fireplace. This is usually located on the control panel or near the power cord. Press and hold the reset button for about 30 seconds.
There are two primary kinds of heat lamps, red lamps and frosted/clear lamps. They function identically in terms of heat production, but the red lamp is designed to produce less visible light and is more suitable for situations where both heat and darkness are important.
Great for banks, industrial applications, restaurants and residential settings, infrared heat lamps have lifespans up to 7,000 hours for long-lasting warmth. Find them in BR38 and PAR38; BR40 and R40; and shatter-resistant varieties to ensure you have the right bulb in your space.
Check the pilot light

One of the most common reasons a gas fireplace won`t turn on is often an extinguished pilot light. A strong downdraft, an interruption in the fuel line, or a build-up of soot and dust can cause the pilot light to flame out.

Check Your Igniter and Thermocouple

If nothing is blocking the tubing, and gas is flowing out, there might be something wrong with the spark igniter and thermocouple. Make sure there`s no debris lodged between the two. If the pilot light ignites but doesn`t stay lit, you might need to replace the igniter.

Although electric fireplaces produce enough heat to warm a room 400 square feet and up, they remain cool to the touch. Without the issue of hot metal casings, electric fireplaces are a safe alternative to a traditional fireplace for kids and pets.
Electric fireplaces are the most energy efficient type of fireplace. They convert 100% of the energy they draw from your electrical supply into power for the heater and flame effect.
The operating life of a LED is unaffected by turning it on and off. While lifetime is reduced for fluorescent lamps the more often they are switched on and off, there is no negative effect on LED lifetime.
While the lifespan of LED lighting depends on its use and application, most standard lamps last 50,000 hours, while dimmable LED lamps can last nearly 100,000 hours. For facilities like hospitals and distribution centers that have lights on 24/7, that (theoretically) could mean longevity of six years.
In conclusion, electric fireplaces are a good choice because of their low-cost, high-efficiency, and practicality. The main drawbacks would be your own personal taste and how much heating your home needs – whether you can give up a real fire or not.
Ideally the plug for your fireplace should be located behind the fire surround, in a region that cannot be seen. All electric fires can be controlled from the canopy (top of fire) and there should be no real reason the need to use the main plug socket where the fire is plugged into.
A fireplace should never be left burning if it is going to be unattended in any capacity. This includes during the night while you sleep. You should always extinguish the fire using the previously mentioned method anytime that you are going to leave your home or plan to go to bed for the night.
Electric Fireplaces Don`t Need to be Vented

The reason that fuel burning fireplaces, such as wood and gas, require vents, is to expel excess heat and dangerous emissions, such as carbon monoxide. Because electric fireplaces do not burn fuel internally or produce any emissions, venting is not required.

A little heat is produced when your pilot light is on so turning it off in summer can help reduce the heat inside your home. The less heat there is, the less you have to use your air conditioner needs to cool down the house. You can get savings and conserve energy if you turn off your pilot light.

ANSWER : There is more to the ign system you need to check. if you have already changed out the coil the next step is the pick coil. its under a cover on the motor and i’ll give you site that you looking up the micro phish and parts break down. from the rear cover you will see a set of wires comeing out in one black sleeve follow that to the end you will see 5 wires three will be the same color in in one plug those are you stator wires the to are you pick up wires this is what pulses and tells the coil when to fire. use a test light and see if your getting a pulse when you spin the motor, if you not then the pick need to be replaced if you are then you may have a bad ecu. site is called world of powersports if you have any other questions feel free to contact meM.Woodring

I just bought a new tippmann 98 custom act platinum edition and it doesnt seem to be firing right. i upgrades the rear bolt and trigger and after a few shots the bolt lock in the firing position. if i pull the trigger forward there is a click and then it will fire, but imediatly lock up again
ANSWER : I would look in to the bolt and check that it moves freely, also check that is properly lubed, and finally that your upgrade bolt does not need a different spring. I would also check the batteries on the grip if it is an E-trigger.
