Scope Range: Close Range, 150+ yards. Close Range, 200+ yards. Close-Mid Range, 300+ yards.
The answer is really simple: a 3-9X riflescope provides an additional level of magnification for every 100 feet, all the way out to 300 yards (900 feet). For many years, 300 yards was about the limit of what most big-game hunters considered to be an ethical shooting distance.
Long-range shooting.
You can shoot out to 1,000 yards just fine with a 3-9×40 if it has good turrets and decent optical quality, so it`s tough to pick just one perfect magnification range for long-range shooting because everyone will have their own preferences.
The 4×32 scope is a great choice for long-range shooting and precision shooting. The 3-9×40 is a good choice for general shooting and hunting. This will be more than enough magnification for most shots at medium to long-range; however, it will lack the precision of the 4x scope when compared to other scopes.
Magnification means how many times your target will be larger if you look at it through the scope. Magnification is indicated on the body of the scope, it can be marked as “3-9×32”. In this example, “3-9” is magnification.
FAQ. What range is a 3-9×40 scope good for? For this model, a range of 50 yards to 300 yards is ideal. There may be more advanced scopes for long-range shooting.
A: 4×12 is more powerful than 3×9. Remember, scopes are not accurate, guns and humans are. IF the objective is to get the target larger than 4×12 is the choice.
The bottom line is we don`t need a ton of power when we`re out hunting deer. A 1-4×32 riflescope is perfectly fine for hunting among the brush. For more versatility, a 3-9×40 scope is the best bet.
8-32x magnification is perfect for long-range shots, and is more than adequate for hitting small game and competition targets at 500 yards, or more. Hunters may find that the Mueller Target Scope is a bit much for some of the shorter hunting distances, but will be well served if a longer shot is mandatory.
Having a magnifier with a 1X to 3X range is, quite often, the average power most shooters need. 3X will comfortably bring you to mid-range shooting, and it’s most ideal for hunting and target practice.
The most common objective lens size for hunting rifle scopes is about 40mm wide. Some hunters prefer the wider field of view of 50mm objective lenses. They also transmit more light during early morning and late evening, possibly giving a hunter a few extra seconds to make a shot.
Sights With 13-24x Magnification
If your target is significantly further than 200 meters away, many hunters and sport shooters will recommend 13-24x scope magnification. This level of magnification is suitable for areas with great visibility and vast open space where accuracy is essential.
With this Gosky spotting scope and its 20-60x magnification, you can easily see your target at over 200 yards.
3-9x will be plenty, and arguably more than you might need, for shooting out to 300 yards. The reticle is etched into the glass of the optic, so even though it`s not illuminated, it will remain crisp in all light conditions.
For most people who hunt between 50 and 500 yards, a 3-15 magnification range will be more than enough.
For most people who hunt between 50 and 500 yards, a 3-15 magnification range will be more than enough.
But, as a rule of thumb, every additional magnification factor gets you about 100 yards of engagement distance. So 3x gets you about 300 yards, which is about as far as most people are effective with a rifle in any event.
Magnifications between 2x to 9x will do the job well for inside 100 yards and seeing holes on paper. Red dot sights and LPVO scopes of 1-4x are designed for CQB and close-range engagements suited to 0–100-yard shooting.
The most common form of the magnification question is “What magnification do I need to shoot 1000yards?” The answer usually given is 10x.

Trying to install a new fluro light, pull out old light to find 3 reds and 3 blacks 1 copper earth. What do I do to connect it up the right way??? When I pulled the old Fluro light out the 3 Reds were joined together with a connector ,two blacks were joined to one end of light wire, the other to the other end of the light wire, earth wire to the light case, the third black wire was connected to the wire from the ballast? Does this all make sense
ANSWER : No, this does not make sense but I have seen strange wiring before. There is power going from the light someplace else. Just connect it back up exactly as the old light was connected. It worked before so it will work again. If it works it is wired correctly. Without being there to check which wire was the hot wire and which was neutral it is impossible for me to say what is what. Make sure you connect the ground wire to the light chassis.
I have a Barnett Croossbow 400 purchased at Cabela’s in Hamburg , Pa, for about two years now, but have recently lost the owners manual for the 4X32 Rhino scope. Unsure what the lines in the scope are as far as yardage is concerned ( there are 5 horizontal lines . What are they looking from the top to the bottom of the scope?
ANSWER : There is a fix

Help! Just bought a Remington 30 06 for my grandson that has a Bushnell Sportview U4124 4-12power scope mounted on it. I would like to sight it in at 100 yards using a 180 grain shell but I don’t have the owners manual and I don’t understand an on line explanation that I found. This is the on line message: “You’ll see two horizontal crosshairs, put the top one on the animals back then zoom in until the bottom one is on his stomach. Look at the numbers on the zoom dial there should be three lines they are D – deer, E – elk and A – antelope. The numbers are the distance to the game, you then turn the external elevation knob or turret to the matching distance and shoot dead on. No need to hold over for bullet drop. The sad part will be if you didn’t get the other turrets that would have come with it as they are calibrated to different calibers and bullet weights”
I don’t understand how to set the elevation knob to 100yards when its lowest shown number is 150. If I need other turrets how or where can I get them? Thanks, a frustrated grandfather.
ANSWER : You can contact the Remington directly who will ship you a free users manual. Here is the company’s Contact Us details:

Spark plug wire boot grounding out on coil, 96 outback 2.5 automatic, just put new spark plug wires, new spark plugs, and new coil on. ran great for two weeks, now spark is jumping out of boot at coil on one wire, put old coil back on and still does it in the same spot. replaced wires again, and still does it in the same spot. seems to do it only under a load. Is my new spark plug on that cylinder bad? Does the coil need some insulation under it? It is the coil that sits right on top of the motor. Any ideas? thanks.
ANSWER : Sparks are high voltage, and will always follow the path of least resistance. If you can visibly see a spark (whether in a lighted area, or in the dark), that means either that a plug wire (or coil wire) is open (non conductive), or your have a carbon track on the surface where the spark can be seen, but most likely you have BOTH problems!
If you have an ohmmeter, check the resistance of each wire involved, particularly spark plug wires … which means you must be able to connect to both ends of each wire at the same, and hopefully, FLEX those wires, to be sure they don’t have a break inside that is intermittent (comes and goes)!
Hi, my tiger river spa does not heat. Filters are clean, jets work, no light installed. On ciruit board, green light for “Lim” , red light for heat, no other lights. Just bought house one month ago, no manuals.
Spa is a Bengal. Have noticed a symbol (can’t tell what it is) on the screen then most of screen goes blank with just the power light on. Is there a vacation mode or something like that?
Thanks for your help.
ANSWER : Spa’s are such that so many components can become faulty when left unattended to over a period of time. But most likely what your unit needs is just a regular service to clean up its systems and also ensure there are no leakages in the pipes. Bengal is a wonderful and durable product. The problem could range from low power supply to wires being eaten up by rats and other pests. Also it could be burnt out heaters thereby the inability to produce heat. The indicator on the screen could mean various things but the screen going blank usually would be caused by poor power supply. If you dont have the technical know how refer an expert to check it out and ensure the exact problem of the above mentioned is wrong with it before repairs can be carried out.Hope this solution has been helpful?
Pop-up camper lights all turn on when tow-vehicle lights are on
