When Nevada became a state in 1864, its constitution explicitly said that the state wouldn`t claim any public land that wasn`t spoken for. This left the vast majority of Nevada`s land in the public estate, managed by the federal government.
It is a public land state. According to the Legislative Counsel Bureau, 85.9 percent of Nevada is owned and controlled by various federal entities.
The majority of the land in Nevada is owned by the federal government but also serves to protect several of the state`s most well-known attractions including Lake Tahoe, Red Rock Canyon (pictured), and Great Basin National Park.
Utah by the numbers

In fact, the U.S. government owns nearly half of all land in the West. This is partly due to the fact that a lot of the territory in the western United States is either mountainous or dry and infertile, and wasn`t readily snatched up by homesteaders.

In addition to urban development, land in Nevada is used for mining and energy production (Fig. 15.11). Nevada`s early history as a US territory and later a State was strongly shaped by the mining industry and extraction of minerals remains an important industry.
Who Is the Largest Landowner in the U.S.? The largest landowners in the United States are the Emmerson family, with 2,330,000 acres of land. Red Emmerson, the patriarch of the family, founded Sierra Pacific Industries in Anderson, CA.
The state with the highest percentage of federal land is Nevada, of which 80.1%, or 56,262,610 acres of its total landmass is federally managed.
The amount and percentage of federally owned land in each state vary widely, ranging from 0.3% of land (in Connecticut and Iowa) to 80.1% of land (in Nevada).
U.S. federal land is land owned by the government of the United States. The United States federal government owns between a quarter and a third of the total land in the United States, approximately six hundred forty million acres of it. The total land area of the United States is just over 2.4 billion acres.
The United States owns over 30 percent of the nation`s surface lands, and has sovereignty over the submerged lands of the Outer Continental Shelf.

Fort Bragg

Hailing from North Carolina, you`ll find Fort Bragg in the number one spot in terms of the largest U.S. military bases in the world. It`s home to the largest population of Soldiers and features 57,000 military members, 23,000 family members of those troops, and 11,000 civilian workers.

The Bureau of Land Management administers more surface land (245 million acres or one-tenth of America`s land base) and more subsurface mineral estate (700 million acres) than any other government agency in the United States.
The state with the highest percentage of land held by the federal government is Nevada (80.1%); the states with the lowest percentage of land held by the federal government are Connecticut and Iowa (0.3%).
The federal government owns 81.07 percent of Nevada`s total land, 56,961,778 acres out of 70,264,320 total acres.
Therefore, Nevada`s creation as a TERRITORY on March 2, 1861, by the United States Congress ensured that its mineral riches would help the Union and not the Confederate cause.

Fuel system problems
ANSWER : I believe the IO-550 has an electric fuel boost pump that is activated by throttle position. It might be that the micro-switch that activates the pump has been improperly set, causing the pump to turn on & off at cruise settings. I have an 1986 viscount regency ultra light when towing with the nissan patrol it does’nt sway when i tow it with the land rover disco i’ts all over the road & thats with new tyres
ANSWER : The hitch height must match that of the Nissan apperantly land rover is either too high or low depending on how you have it set up. A trailer does not care what is towing it as long as it is as close to level as possible. Either that is the issue or the land rover has an alignment issue and is not tracking properly with the front and rear wheels. They should be in alignment as well. You might need to have the rover get a 4 wheel alignment to correct this issue. Wind around the vehichles also plays a part in the trailer tracking straight behind the tow vehichle. You might need a sway bar mounted on the Rover to the trailer if the wind is causing this. There really isn’t much else to check exept load conditions. Is the trailer loaded the same when you pull it on either truck? The majority of the loades weight need to be as close to the center of the axles as possible in the trailer.
