Pennsylvania State Grants and Scholarship Programs

Information about the Pennsylvania State Grant, the Ready to Succeed Scholarship (RTSS), the Blind or Deaf Higher Education Beneficiary Grant (BDBG), the Partnerships for Access to Higher Education Grant (PATH) and the Chafee Education and Training Grant (Chafee).

Penn Foster does not accept federal financial aid. Undergraduate Grants and Scholarships. Like other Ivy League schools, Penn undergraduate aid is entirely need-based. The University does not award scholarships based on academic or athletic merit.
If you are 18 years of age or older—You must be a PA resident for at least the 12 consecutive months immediately preceding your applicable PA State Grant filing deadline excluding any time you are enrolled in a PA postsecondary school, if you came into or remained in PA for the purpose of attending a school or college.
Penn Foster doesn`t provide laptops or tablets to students, so having your own computer or access to a computer from a family member or friend is key.
That means that students at many online schools will generally be eligible for aid from FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. However, some online schools, such as Penn Foster, have a different type of accreditation and do not accept federal financial aid.

Penn meets 100% of demonstrated financial need with grants and work-study funding. 46% of undergraduate students received grant-based financial aid in 2020-2021, with an average package of $56,095–more than the cost of tuition.

Federal and State Aid

Most forms of financial aid offered at Penn State are provided by the federal or state governments and are available only to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. International students are not eligible for these aid programs.

A grant is a type of financial aid award that you don`t need to repay, as long as you meet all of the eligibility requirements.
Eligible students only receive 8 total semesters of Pennsylvania State Grant throughout their academic career. Using the grant during the summer semester can take away potential fall or spring eligibility later.
It takes approximately 10 business days for standard processing from the date your FAFSA® (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and/or PA State Grant correspondence is received. In some instances, the processing time may take longer than anticipated.
Our online high school diploma curriculum is a total of 21 credits, including your basic general education requirements, like English and math courses.
Depending upon the program you choose, you can complete your training in just a few months or take up to two years to complete a program, depending on the program. Student enrolled in our High School diploma program may take up to three years to complete their program.
