The most common side effect on a gas golf cart is the starter failing to connect, resulting in the engine not turning over and a succession of useless tapping sounds. If your golf cart fails to turn on when you turn the key on, this is the most obvious sign of solenoid failure.
In a car, the engine starts when you turn the key, and it keeps running until you switch the ignition off. In a gasoline-powered golf cart, the engine starts when you step on the gas pedal, and it shuts off when you take your foot off the gas.
For starters, golf carts usually have much smaller batteries than cars. This means that golf carts can`t jump start just any car. The golf cart battery must be powerful enough to jump start the car, and the car`s battery must be small enough to be jump started by the golf cart.
All golf carts have alternators, but not all of them are created equal. Some have larger alternators that can charge the battery faster, while others have smaller alternators that take longer to charge the battery.

Lead-acid golf cart batteries last about two to five years with regular use, while lithium-ion golf cart batteries may last ten to 20 years with proper maintenance.

With horsepower ratings ranging from 10-12 HP, gas golf cars are as much as 3-4 times more powerful than their electric counterparts. An electric golf cart, on average, will feature a 3-5 HP electric motor – but that`s not to say electric carts aren`t impressively powerful in their own right.
If your golf cart fails to turn on when you turn the key on, this is the most obvious sign of solenoid failure. The solenoid clicks a little with the ignition system in regular operation; in most cases, a failing solenoid will not snap.
If your golf car won`t start, is slower than it used to be, or is experiencing other technical problems, you could have a bad motor on your hands.

Mule 610 will not start. Was running fine, plowing snow and it starting acting like it was running out of gas and stalled. Put gas in put it won’t start and acts like it is not getting gas. Could the gas line have frozen due to the depth of the snow?

Motor was running great, but it died slowly and never start again
ANSWER : Check to see if you have a spark -then check if you are still getting fuel-and how old is the fuel-because it is recommended ,an im assuming its a 2 stroke motor,that the fuel should be replace with a fresh 2 stroke mixture every couple of months as the mixture jellyfies and sludges up the carb etc-try those first

Won’t start after storeage
ANSWER : Does your motor turn over or is battery dead. think you have to pull brake lever to actuate starter. if it does turn over and doesn’t start. try draining carb. and to get some fresh fuel in the carb and try again. if not you may need to clean carb.

I have 1977 340 artic cat jag. I started it and I let it idel for few min. Than I rived it up . then I tried to get it to move. it stalled suddenly .now it won,t start . I have good fire at plugs. motor wants to start,but won,t run.did Icut key off at fly wheel. Roger
ANSWER : Well the only way to tell is to check your timing or pull the fly wheel and check. These are not to hard to bull apart. Getting the fly wheel off the shaft is the worst part. Another thing you could check is the motor ground this would give you weak spark though.
