SAFETY GUIDELINES
Barnett crossbows are equipped with an automatic anti-dry fire safety mechanism, which engages every time the crossbow is cocked. An arrow must be loaded into the flight track to release the safety and the safety must be disengaged or in the “off/ fire” position before each shot.
It will help us to track your crossbow if you use the Serial Number found on the underside of the pistol grip as the subject header. Send us your trade-in. Box up your trade-in and ship it to; Barnett Outdoors, Attn; Trade-in, 955 Live Oak Street, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689.
Barnett 350 Black Crossbow Package, 165lb Draw Weight.
Combined with an overall weight of just 6.6 pounds, this crossbow hunts light and fast – 375 feet per second fast.
The trigger mechanism includes a trigger that is attached to a sear that contacts a bearing attached to the cable catch assembly. Cocking the crossbow causes a string nut in the cable catch assembly to rotate. When the crossbow is cocked, the string nut retains the crossbow cable and a bolt is loaded.
Crossbows work on essentially the same principle as a bow – energy stored in the limbs of the crossbow is transferred to the arrow upon release of its string. Crossbows have a limited range, similar to that of a bow, and require careful estimation of the distance to the target to ensure a precise shot.
The crossbows were manufactured in the US and the defective sensors were made in China. This is not the first problem concerning the Barnett Outdoors crossbow.
As with most vertical bow hunters, effective range for a crossbow is about 40 yards. At this distance most hunters are able to fire a crossbow accurately enough to be lethal. Just like vertical bows, kinetic energy is the name of the game.
Modern crossbows typically generate speeds anywhere from 280-350 feet per second, with some models topping 400 fps. Despite the speed advantage today`s crossbows hold over the average compound bow, I still believe the maximum effective range for crossbow hunters is about the same as it is for vertical bowhunters.
A common misconception is that faster is better. However, this is not always true. For example, a typical crossbow provides 260 FPS to 400 FPS. If you want to get the best out of your crossbow, then I suggest you choose a crossbow with a speed of 250-300 FPS.
Note: For safety, it is best to begin the sighting-in process at 10 yards. Then, when the arrows are hitting in the center of the target at 10 yards after adjustments have been made with the scope, move back to 20 yards.
An average modern crossbow launches a 400-grain arrow at 350 fps and strikes with about 100 ft-lbs of kinetic energy at 20 yards. A 30-06 bullet fired from a modern rifle travels nearly 3,000 fps striking with more than a ton of kinetic energy at 100 yards.
Crossbow speeds are usually measured in feet-per-second (FPS). When a crossbow is said to shoot at 300 FPS, that means that, when the arrow leaves the flight rail, it would travel 300 feet in the span of one second if it could constantly maintain its momentum and trajectory.
Maple. Maple is one of the best bow woods and one of the most common materials used in professionally made recurve bows.
They are easy to shoot, super accurate, and deadly. First time crossbow buyers often hear that crossbows are accurate out to 100 yards and beyond. That is sometimes the case, but not always. Not every person who shoots a crossbow can accurately shoot it at 100 yards or more.
Crossbows don`t require the same physical strength or training that ordinary bows do: When using a traditional bow, an archer must draw, aim and shoot in fairly quick succession.
PRODUCT DETAILS. The Power Draw is the ultimate versatile crossbow crank from CenterPoint. Designed to make cocking your crossbow easier, this reduces the draw weight of CenterPoint crossbows by up to 70%.
Crossbows have a safety feature: Most crossbows are on safe at the end of the cocking process. Immediately after cocking, always check to make sure that your bow is on safe before doing anything else. This is critical!
latch. Designed to capture the string when the crossbow is cocked (drawn), the latch holds the string in place until it`s released by the trigger. limbs. Can be compound or recurve.
The WILDCAT C5 is equipped with an automatic anti-dry fire safety, which engages every time the crossbow is cocked. The safety must be released before each shot. This, as with any other mechanical device, does not guarantee total safety, as no safety device is a substitute for common sense and safe handling.
The safety on a crossbow may be located on the side or the back of the sight bridge. Some crossbows have a dual safety system. Check your owner`s manual to learn how to use the safety for your specific crossbow correctly.
