How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

We offer a diverse range of insights on identifying and resolving common problems in sports. Our sources encompass academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays shared by seasoned athletes. :

This transducer can be mounted on the transom of the boat or bonded to the inside of a fiberglass hull boat with a two part slow curing epoxy. The transom installation, which is the most widely used, places the transducer on the outside of the boat hull.
The transducer should be mounted nose-up about three degrees in relation to the plane of the hull bottom. Sometimes a transducer mounted parallel with the hull bottom also works fine, but even the slightest nose-down angle can cause turbulence or cavitation that kills performance.
Mount a transducer too low and it will have too much drag in the water causing disturbance resulting in a poor picture, or even the transducer being ripped off the boat. Mount it too high and it will be out of the water or shooting through air bubbles for a poor to nonexistent picture.
On outboard or inboard/outboard boats, it is best to locate the transducer at least 15″ to the side of the propeller(s). The best way to locate turbulence-free water is to view the transom while the boat is moving. This method is recommended if maximum high-speed operation is a high priority.
The transducer must be level with the bottom of the hull to ensure accurate depth readings. You can use the following tips to make sure your boat is level when out of the water.
Note: the transducer must be submerged in water for reliable transducer detection. If a transducer is detected, the unit will enter “Start Up” or normal operation unless you choose another option. If you do not press any button before the timer reaches “0”, the normal operation screen is displayed.
It is not recommended to run a FishFinder and transducer on a boat that is not in the water as you will not get any readings from the transducer.
NOTE: The bolt should be tight enough to hold the transducer in place when the boat moves at high speed, but loose enough to allow the transducer to pivot out of the way if the transducer hits an obstruction.
Transducer Frequency

200 kHz works best in water under 200 feet/60 meters and when you need to get an accurate reading while moving at faster speeds. High frequencies give you greater detail to detect very small objects but over a smaller portion of water.

If the depth sounder reads correctly at slow speeds but not at high speeds, the problem is usually with the installation. Make sure the transducer has not “kicked up”. If it has, simply reset the transducer by snapping it back in its bracket. Check for any damage to the transducer or cable.
Transducers often suffer interference from nearby unshielded electrical cables, which can affect calibration. Electrical components can also succumb to environmental factors, such as moisture penetration of the case.
There are many things that can cause a transducer to provide unstable readings examples include shock overload, lightning or electrical surges, mis-handling, water ingress, corrosion, broken cable, short circuit. Why does my torque transducer`s shaft not rotate freely? This could be due to faulty bearings.
UNDERSTANDING. It`s all in the details. Gain a 180 degrees side-to-side perspective on the world below the surface with remarkable Humminbird® Side Imaging®. In an instant, the ultra-thin beam scans the area up to 400 feet to the left and right of your boat location – for total coverage of up to 800 feet.
If the measured valued has a big enough discrepancy, then the pressure transducer isn`t accurate and is unfit for use. Generally, pressure transducers from reputed companies vary only as little as 0.25% from the true value.
You may need to adjust your boat`s trim tabs if the transducer is not mounted in the center of the transom. For optimal results, the transducer should be mounted as close to the center line of the hull as possible.
A displacement transducer, or DT, is an electrical transducer used in measuring linear position. Linear displacement is the movement of an object in one direction along a single axis.
Others say fish can`t hear a transducer`s click because it is a much higher frequency than a fish is capable of hearing. According to fishfindersource.com, the idea that fish can hear your transducer is a myth that needs debunking.
You will not be able to test out the transducer`s ability to read depth when the boat is not in water. Air dissipates the sound waves produced by the transducer and will cause the transducer to not be able to produce a reading.
While it is not recommended that more than one transducer be run simultaneously, there can be multiple transducers installed on a boat. If two transducers are transmitting at or close to the same frequency and the signals cross, interference may appear on the display of your Garmin Marine Chartplotter.
Through-Hull Transducers are the best for clarity and performance, but cost more and are harder to install. If you need high speed bottom scanning, these units are worth their cost.
No. Side Imaging transducers have beams that shoot out to the side of the transducer therefore they cannot be epoxied into the hull and work properly. In addition, we do not recommend this type of installation for Down Imaging. Shooting through the hull of a fiberglass boat causes the signal to be lost.
The general rule of thumb is to mount the transducer to the starboard side, which is the down stroke of most single outboard boat propellers (right hand lower unit). This side produces the least amount of turbulence and is most efficient in delivering the best performance.
Since the working voltage of Humminbird sounders is between 10V and 20V, a Humminbird can be used with either a battery from the Angling line or the AV line.
The length of tubing will not affect the accuracy of your transducer. The instrument will still measure accurate readings regardless of how far away it is from the pressure source.

I installed everything as per the instructions. Day one it all worked good, except at high speed. Day 2 all i get is water temp and no display. Checked all cables, re-mounted transducer level per instructions but still no depth or bottom. I suspect the transducer has packed it in already! I have not changed the factory default settings.
ANSWER : Hello Tim.Not sure what make your sounder is but I suppose it really does not matter at this point. If indeed it was working and not hit on anything to knock it out of place there isn’t much else it could be.You are getting a temperature signal so that indicates that the connector is still plugged in OK.Not an uncommon issue to have the transducer go bad. I have had to replace a few over the years.Have you a fishing buddy with the same make you could hook up to and try it?Can you contact the manufacturer to see about warranty?I use Lowrance and they have a tech line to call if you need assistance. Perhaps you could look up your manufacturer and see if they also have one.Thank you for using FixYa.KL

I have a TX500, never been used (just out of the box) and had to get an electrician to my home for this problem. It will start rolling but quits in a few seconds. The electrician believes that it is a problem in the sensor that rides at the belt. There is only one sensor in the pulley; he thinks that perhaps there should be two as there is a hole placement opposite the one that is in there. When the belt quits, it goes to a number 3 on the board which he thinks is the sensor as well. If he is correct, where do we get another magnet to place there? If he is not correct, please offer help. We did not get a owners manual in the box and surely could use one; where can we get one? Please help…thankyou
ANSWER : Hello,I believe the best thing to do at this point is to look for a way to get the manual of the device, this will give a full guide and better understanding on how to fix this problem.Check maualnguide.com to search for the manual of the device, the link provides almost all manuals to all device.Take care.

Not sure how to replace the belt in my MTD, Wards snowblower
ANSWER : Remove the housing with the machine offThe idler pulley is designed to push up against the outside of the belt between the drive and motor pulleys when disegaged the belt should look like a loop like a race trackengage the blade clutch and watch to see if it presses up against the drive pully and the motor pulley their should be a spring attached to the idler arm and i believe the new belt is dragging a littleyou should be able to move the belt with your hands ( it should slip freely) rod is engaged or it pulls the idler away Either a spring causes tension when the rod is engaged or it pulls the idler away Keep working with it until it is free you may have an adjustment on the spring tension or the linkage rod has an adjustment I am sure you can do this without an diagram good luck

My swimming pool. I have just had my fifth IC 40 Intellichlor chlorine generator installed in 4 years at a cost of over $900 today. Each one has worked for no more than 8 months. The first three were replaces under three year warranty, the fourth by a factory rep and I bought the fifth today. The first three all failed with Flow Chk PCB error message. The fourth just stopped working on Sunday, no power or lights. A local Pentair warranty person, whom I paid a Service Call, unplugged the unit, opened the small power center cover, showed me the green light indicating that there was power, plugged in a new IC 40 which worked immediately (as did the other four). I asked if I should replace the power center and he said that it’s basically just a transformer and is working fine. We do get occasional power blips that make the clocks on microwaves, etc blink, but I thought that the power center essentially isolates the cell from these. I do have a Florida Power and Light surge protector on the electrical box that brings power into the house. I have now talked to the pool builder, two Pentair warranty repairmen and one factory rep. I am at a loss. They all tell me they have no idea why these units fail after less than a year. This last IC 40 was installed 3/24/2010, version 2.0 and now failed in less than 5 months. Should I replace the power center that the IC 40 plugs into. Any other suggestions. I have been told that this is the best chlorinator. I don’t want to keep replacing units. By the way, each unit had been spotless inside. I keep the water chemicals and salt levels at ideal levels. The units have never worked long enough to get dirty inside. The power center is connected to an Intellitouch control system outside with an indoor control panel. Last time I called Pentair North Carolina and got some smart alec tech person that had no suggestions. Please Help if you can.
ANSWER : I’ve had the same experiance. On my fifth one as well. Fail every year. No idea why.
