748 is the powder of choice by Winchester and the U.S. military for 5.56mm and 223 Rem. ammunition. The low flame temperature of 748 extends barrel life versus other similar speed powders. It can be used in a wide variety of centerfire rifle loads including 222 Rem, 30-30 Win, 308 Win, and up to 458 Win.
Typically 15 to 24 grains of smokeless powder, 70 to 100 grains of black powder.
Winchester Super Field is a ball powder, the propellant of choice for Winchester 20-gauge AA Target loads. WSF is an ideal choice to maximize velocities in 12-gauge 1-1/8-ounce and 1-1/4-ounce loads. Super Field also performs well in 9MM, 38 Super and 40 S&W pistol loads.
IMR 8133 and Retumbo proved to be the best powders for handloading the 6.5 PRC in all bullet weights from 120 to 147 grains. Both are temperature-stable powders, a real plus for longer-range shooting, and IMR 8133 also features a decoppering agent.
Handloading today has been affected by many factors. A million new gun owners, the political climate and the COVID pandemic have all combined to create shortages of ammunition, bullets, primers and powders. In fact, it`s almost impossible to find exactly what you are looking for in any of these categories.
The current powder situation is due to a record demand for all reloading components and NOT a reduction in the supply of powder. With long-time handloaders looking to stock up and new gun owners looking for ammunition, there is an unprecedented demand for powder and other reloading components.
Overloading or Extra Powder in Ammo

Putting extra powder in the case will aggravate an already dangerous situation. Extra powder could also create a dangerous situation where a gun blows up, as many guns don`t have a way to vent gas and some don`t have adequate locking lugs to handle the extra pressure.

Loading your own shotgun shells is not economical if you shoot 12- and 20-gauge, but it is practical for tailoring ammo for specific applications. Twenty years ago, when lead shot and primers were cheap, it was economical to load your own shells if you shot a lot of ammo in trap, skeet and sporting clays.
Smokeless Short Magnum Rifle

With Reloder 17 reloaders have a powder that meters easy and consistently while providing maximum velocity even in extreme weather. This consistent performance is what reloaders have come to expect from Alliant Powder – and Reloder 17 proves worthy.

In addition to Varget and IMR 4064, a half-dozen or more other powders work extremely well in the . 308 case: AA 2460, BLC-2, IMR 4895, Reloader 15, Ramshot TAC, VV N150, and VV N540.
H4831SC is often the powder of choice for 6.5×284 shooters. Many people say its burn rate is a tad too fast to push the heavy 6.5 caliber bullets fast in the PRC.
H4350 is indeed a great powder for the Creedmoor, but H4831, IMR 4350, IMR 4831, IMR 4451, W-748, IMR 8208XBR, Varget, Big Game, as well as W-748 from Hodgdon have all proven to be excellent performers depending on the rifle and bullet.
Vihtavuori powders have a reputation for being some of the cleanest burning powders available. Many competitive shooters use them for that reason, in addition to fulfilling their other needs. The other thing Vihtavuori powders are known for is their accuracy.
You can tell if a can of powder is good or bad by giving its contents a sniff test. If the smell ranges from no detectable odor to resembling alcohol, ether or acetone (from its solvent content), it is okay.
Cases are by far the most expensive of the reloading components, but because they are also the one that you can use again and again, the cost is spread over several uses so has less impact on the cost of each batch of ammunition you reload.
Reloading takes a lot of time and dedication. You first have to go through and work up a load that shoots well. This can be very frustrating, and you have to tweak the amount of powder and bullet depth to find the right combination that shoots well.
There are two basic dies needed in both types to complete the reloading process, the resizing/decapping die and the seating/crimping die. Both are used in conjunction with each other to make sure your brass is shaped and sized correctly for a safe and successful shooting experience.
Consumer demand is one of the most powerful forces in the market, and when ammo manufacturing can`t keep up with it, it causes shortages.
A bullet isn`t likely to go off when you drop the cartridge for various reasons, including how it lands. Most dropped bullets land tip first on a floor or the ground. When this happens, the bullet will land in a way that prevents the impact from being sufficiently forceful to cause the bullet to fire.
On the range, a “jam” is broad term frequently used to refer to several different firearms malfunctions people encounter. Poor technique, faulty rounds, and mechanical problems lead to a number of reasons as to why the gun got jammed. You can reduce the odds of having your weapon jam by routinely cleaning your firearm.
The universal recommendation is ten years, although there`s no doubt that ammunition can last longer if stored properly.
Like all old ammunition, used shotgun shells can be perfectly safe to shoot as long as they were stored under adequate conditions.
Accurate 2700 is a medium burning, double-base, spherical rifle powder that is ideally suited for the 30-06 Springfield and other medium capacity calibers such as the 22-250 Remington, 220 Swift, and the 243 Winchester. 2700 provides excellent velocities and performance in the Winchester Super Short Magnum cartridges.
H4350 is ideal in the WSM family of calibers (270, 7mm, 30, 325) and is also the standard in such cartridges as the 243 Winchester, 6mm Remington, 270 Winchester, 338 Winchester Magnum and many more. For magnums with light- to moderate-weight bullets, it can`t be beat!

Winchester powder load data
ANSWER : Going by the Lee reloading manual, IMR 7828 is not an option for a 150 grain bullet. That powder does not come up in the load data until using a 195 grain bullet. Most powder manufacturers have extensive load data on their website. I would recommend looking there.

How do I fill a soccer ball with helium? Do I need a special adapter? I have a ball needle. My son is comparing a soccer ball with air, one with nitrogen and (hopefully) one with helium for a science project.
ANSWER : It would take a frankenstein of conectors to go from a gas bottle to a soccer ball. i would get a ball needle and have it soldered to a gas hose fitting. any welding supply store would have the gases and fittings you would need and would probably be willing to help if you tell them what its for
