You will also need a drill in order to drill holes into the pole for the bolts that will hold the hoop in place. Additionally, you will need a wrench to tighten the bolts and a level to make sure that the hoop is installed correctly. With these tools, you should be able to successfully assemble a basketball hoop.
The recommended hole size is 16 inches in diameter and 48 inches deep. You will need eleven 80-lb bags of concrete for the installation. IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTION: Before you dig, call your local utilities to rule out the presence of buried cables including power, water, gas and phone lines.
It is recommended that concrete be allowed to cure for a minimum of 28 days. However, depending on the desired use of the basketball hoop, the curing time may be extended to ensure that the concrete is fully cured and will not be damaged by weather or other elements.
Basketball is a simple game, it doesn`t require any equipment other than a hoop, a ball and a flat court. Even two players can play and have fun with basketball.
Can I turn my portable system into an in-ground system? In order to convert your Lifetime portable system, you will need to purchase a new set of in-ground poles. Please contact customer service for parts and service.
