Most four-person spas hold between 300-400 gallons of water.
However, in general, a small hot tub (sized for two to three people) will weigh about 500 pounds when empty, while a large hot tub (sized for up to six people) will weigh about 1,000 pounds when empty. Based on these averages, you can assume a medium sized hot tub is around 750 pounds when empty.
A: When you fill or refill your spa pool, it needs to be treated with a relatively high dose of sanitiser. You should aim to add 40g of chlorine granules per 1000L of water in the beginning, and let the level drop to 3-5 milligrams per litre before using the hot tub.
Hot Tub Dimensions 4 Person

This spa measures 1950 x 1950 x 830mm and uses 1100 litres of water. It is the ideal size to seat 4 people comfortably.

Look for hot tubs that have 20-30 jets for every massage pump and at least 5-6 jets per seat on average.
In general, they use between 3.5 and 6 kWh per day of electricity, but these factors will impact the amount of energy they use and how much you spend: The outside temperature (hot tub power usage in winter is often greater) How frequently you use it.
The most popular size, medium hot tub sizes often measure between 6`6″ to 7`9″ long, 6`4″ to 7`9″ wide, and 33″ to 38½” tall. They comfortably sit four to five people. This size is roomy enough to allow you to relax with family and friends without the hot tub dominating your outdoor space.
Rectangular polypropylene models are heavier and can weigh anywhere from ca. 250 kg to 400 kg. Wooden models weigh from ca. 250 kg to 400 kg, based on their diameter and wood type.
You should have at least three people to help lift, balance, and maneuver the hot tub during the moving process, though four people would be ideal.
How long can hot tub water sit untreated? You can skip water treatment for your hot tub for about 2 to 3 weeks before it would no longer be safe for you to soak in. No sanitizing chemicals means you putting yourself at risk of contamination.
On average, it takes 1 to 2 hours to fill a spa. However, it can go shorter or longer depending on several factors such as water pressure, spa size, and hose size. We recommend setting a timer to keep your eye on the water level as your spa gets filled to avoid overfilling.
For access requirements and how accessories work within the Gazebo, talk with your Sales Consultant. A Spa Pool can weigh between 1-3 tonne when filled with water and therefor requires a sturdy foundation.
The average tub will not exceed 42″ high with a depth of 36”. Most people agree that anything higher is just too much and difficult to get in and out of. By keeping hot tubs around 36”, people find they get a more comfortable soak.
The number of jets you have in your hot tub should be in proportion to the size of your hot tub. Scores of jets spread throughout a large hot tub are not necessarily going to provide a lot of hydrotherapy power. Fewer jets in a smaller hot tub will give a more effective massage.
A bigger hot tub will usually have more than one pump because there is room for more jets, whereas smaller hot tubs make only need a single pump. Also, you will find `low power` hot tubs (13 amp) models are constricted by the electric supply meaning only one pump can be fitted.
Typically, water heats up by five to ten degrees Fahrenheit in an hour. Heating your hot tub to the desired temperature in the 100 to 102 degrees Fahrenheit range can take three to eight hours.
Once the water is heated to your preferred temperature, you`ll save energy—and money—by keeping it there. It costs more to reheat the water from scratch every time you turn it on. Even if you only use your hot tub once a week, you should still leave it constantly running.
A 2-seater spa holds about 170 gallons (about 650 litres). A 4-seater hot tub holds about 330 gallons (about 1250 litres). A large spa that seats 7 or 8 people holds somewhere between 475 and 610 gallons (1800 and 2300 litres).
In general, a small two-to-three-person hot tub will typically weigh 500 pounds when empty, and somewhere near 3000 pounds when filled with water. If your spa is of a much larger variety, such as a nine or ten-person spa, the dry weight will be somewhere in the ballpark of 900-1250 pounds, and up to 8000 pounds filled.
Yes, it is definitely possible to put a hot tub on your deck! However it does depend on the size and weight of the filled hot tub and the deck specifications, so make sure to consult a local engineering or construction expert.
Our 3 person tubs have a volume of between 750 and 850 litres. Below you will find a full range of hot tub spas designed for three adults.
The warm, bubbly water also eases aches and pains from conditions like arthritis, low back pain, and fibromyalgia. But hot tubs might not be safe for some people, including pregnant women and those with heart disease. And when they aren`t cleaned well, they pose risks to even healthy people.
If you`re in good health and not pregnant, you don`t have to abstain from hot tubbing. You can maximize your safety if you keep the temperature below 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius) and listen to your body. Get out if you feel nauseated or dizzy or get a headache.
Making Water Count

Contrary to popular belief, when properly maintained, your hot tub`s water only needs to be changed once every four months. The average hot tub holds about 400 gallons, meaning that daily it uses three gallons of water.

I have a 1997 Coleman 107 Hot Tub. While filling the tub it over flowed and the circuit breaker popped. Over the years I’ve done this a couple of times. I remove the side, let things dry for a day or so and everything is fine. This time, I reset the breaker and the spa went on. The pumps work fine, and the control panel shows the temp and the indicator light shows the heater is on. However, work never heats up. The local spa repair folks are crooks and they know less than I do, and I know NOTHING. Nonetheless, I’m going to try and fix the problem myself. Now, I need to know the best way to determine if the problem is the circuit board or the heater itself. I also need to know where I can get a repair maual. I’m tired of paying Goober and Gomer hundreds of dollars.
ANSWER : Check the terminals that lead into the heating element to ensure voltage is present (110 AC) if voltage is present upon start up the heating element must be replaced if no voltage is present is is most likely a control board issue. Go to this web site for contact info and possible repair manual aquisition.

Coleman Hot tub
ANSWER : I hate to be the bearer of bad news but more than likely the spa pack is fried. I can’t say this with 100% certainty without being on site, but if there was an electrical problem and the spa has no power more than likely you’re up the creek. To be sure I’m correct in this assumption, we need to check a couple things. Make sure that you have 220 going to the pack. Use a meter to make sure you have 110 going to both of the hot terminals. There should be a wiring diagram on the back side of the spa pack cover. If you have the proper power to the pack check the fuses next. Typically there are 2 or 3 fuses on a spa pack. There will be a smaller glass fuse that if blown can create the illusion that the spa is dead. If all the fuses are in tact you’re unfortunately done. Colman spas have been out of production for quite a while. If the pack is blown there will not be a readily available OEM replacement pack. I guess it’s possible to install a newer pack and get it back up and running but it would be a major undertaking that would cost more than the spa is worth. More than likely your boss was aware of this, and that is why he gave you the spa for free. Sorry man!

Hot tub stopped working. It would turn on for a couple of seconds and then it would go off and the control panel on the top side of the spa would turn off by itself. Someone looked at it and said that it was probably the “something” switch but I am now single and can’t afford to have a professional look at it. Sounds electrical???
