I have a 94 Kawasaki 750 and about 30 min of fun the boat begins to run like it has a weight ataached or 4000 rpm max. I replaced the coil pack, rebuit the carbs, The boat will immediately start and run for maybe 200 yards and then it does the same thing all over again. This will happen over and over. The next day the same thing after about 30 min the boat starts stalling.

Thanks
Andy

Experienced athletes share their insights in answering this question:
Fuel system has to hold 3 to 7 psi for ten minutes. fix any leaks. Check to make sure that your water temp sender is working right and or that the water system is not clogged.
If it thinkd that it is over heating the rev limiter will drop to a lower rpm. hope that helps

How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

We offer a diverse range of insights on identifying and resolving common problems in sports. Our sources encompass academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays shared by seasoned athletes. :

Wide open throttle or wide-open throttle (WOT), also called full throttle, is the fully opened state of a throttle on an engine (internal combustion engine or steam engine).
If the pilot circuit is rich, the engine will have a rough idle or may not return to idle without “blipping” the throttle. You may also notice a distinct smell of raw fuel and some eye irritation from the exhaust.
But, if you`re racing then you`re missing out on potentially big power gains and better throttle response. Main jet too big symptoms: Sputtering/hesitation on full throttle acceleration.
Throttling refers to control of fuel injection in an engine…. However part throttle signifies injecting fuel lesser than it should have been injected during full throttle or full speed.
When the throttle valve is in idle state or slightly open, the voltmeter should read voltage of 5.0V.
At idle is should be zero or a couple of degrees. Press down on the gas pedal very S-L-O-W-L-Y until the throttle is all the way open. You should see the percentage of throttle opening gradually increase to 100 percent at wide open throttle.
Smell the exhaust gases (not too much). If there is a strong smell of raw gas, then the engine is running rich. A lean engine doesn`t start well and will not respond very well to the throttle.
So, we`ll have a look at them in isolation to see how they affect things. Let`s look at temperature first. Higher temperatures reduce the air density and the amount of available oxygen, so it`s fairly obvious that hotter days require smaller jetting.
A larger jet number means a bigger hole and more fuel. A smaller jet number has smaller holes and should be used if your engine needs to run leaner.
Fuel lines, dirty air filters, and throttle body issues can all cause a delayed throttle response. You can avoid this issues by installing a Throttle Response Controller. Engine response time will be improved, and you`ll enjoy driving your car more.
Periodic full throttle operation has a side benefit of helping to clear your engine`s combustion chamber of carbon deposit buildup too, so you don`t have to feel too badly about the occasional fuel “waste.”
Yes this is bad for your engine for a multitude of reasons. In fact, it`s not good to run your engine at full throttle for extended periods of time unless the engine is designed to take it, whether it`s cold or warmed up.

High RPM – Idle speed is measured in revolutions per minute (RPM). For most 2 liter and below sized engines the vehicles, the standard idle speed should be around 750 RPM (when the engine is warm). If your car`s RPM is above 900 with a warm engine while idling, it is likely using too much fuel.
Yes running any engine at “full throttle” for extended periods of time can harm it. Engines create heat which in turns can break down oil, seals, gaskets, and in extreme circumstances can warp or melt metal. Most modern engines have a rev limiter or governer to ensure they don`t run at full throttle for this reason.
Powershifting, also known as full-throttle shifting or flat-shifting (not to be confused with evertons power shift), is a method of shifting used with manual transmissions to reduce the time where the driving wheels are not powered.

I have a 99 yamaha f100 four stroke outboard. Problem I have is boat will acclereate fine get up on plane and after running for about a mob at wot will decell and only run around 4500 rpm. Then after coming back to idle will have a slight miss then run smooth and repeat every run. Changed the plugs and fuel filters alll oe yamaha has fresh oil timing belt is good any ideas will help or fuel psi spec. I am an ase master automotive tech so I know alot about engs. To me it feels like it’s running out of gas. Like the carb bows are full when I take off but then runs out after running wot. Any info will help
ANSWER : I have exactly the same problem with my Yamaha F100, have you got any solutions yet?

I have a Kohler Condidant 5 Generator that will run as long as you hold the start button in. It dies when you let off. I have a harness for the remote switch but no switch – It also will start the generator when you cross the red and black wire and run as long as you hold them together. There are 3 wires to the main switch and 5 to the remote switch. Does the starter stay engaged the whole time you hold the start switch or does the computer release the starter once it is running? The Generator is producing electricity because I tested it while holding the start button. Some where is a wire that shold tell it to keep running. I have read online many descriptions of the same problem, most are told the board is bad so they replace it and still have the problem. Have not found a solution. Talked to a marine machanic today and he said he fixed his friends generator doing the same thing by running a bypass wire but he couldnt remember exactly what he did it was a long time ago. Can anyone help me. Thank you
ANSWER : The problem is either the ballast resistor or the starter bypass relay. The bypass relay should be part of the starter solenoid. I’m afraid I can’t tell you exactly where the ballast resistor is located. It should be a physically fairly large resistor made of ceramic. It should be retangular roughly 1.5″-3″ long and 3/8″-1/2″ accross with a wire on each end. It could also be a coil of wire mounted on a phenolic board.
If you need more help just add a comment and I’ll respond as soon as I get the message.

Garden tractor runs great for about an hour then acts like it isn’t getting gas. Pull choke out and runs a little more then flames out. Put new fuel filter on still does this. Is the high idle shutoff going bad? How do you check this? After setting for less than a minute will start up and run for about 5 to 10 min, and does it all over again
ANSWER : Have you checked the air filter, sounds like that may be dirty.

I have a polaris snowmobile and it starts up great, idles fine, but after running it about 200 yards or for about 30 mins it dies and wont start up for 10 mins or so. What could cause it to do this,
ANSWER : The problem is the needle valve in your carb is partially clogged. It’s not letting enough gas into your carb fast enough. You let it sit for 10 mins and it slowly fills the carb’s bowl back up. Then you ride it and it empties the bowl of gas faster than the needle valve can keep it full and the snowmobile dies. Get the carb cleaned and it will fix your problem

Extremely high rpm’s in neutral
ANSWER : Maybe the idle speed needs to be decreased, or check for engine overheating since you said that this happens after you have had the engine on for a while, this too can hcause strange rpms.

Good Luck!
