From 1942 to 1945, Remington Rand was a contract manufacturer of the M1911A1 . 45 caliber semi-automatic pistol used by the United States Armed Forces during World War II. Remington Rand produced more M1911A1 pistols than any other wartime manufacturer.
You can date a Remington down to the month of manufacture, in many cases, by consulting the detailed serial number records available on The Typewriter Database. The first numeral is the last numeral of the year in which the typewriter was made (for example, “3” means 1923).
In 1955 the Sperry Corporation and Remington Rand merged forming Sperry Rand. Sperry Rand eventually merged with Burroughs to form Unisys and is still in business.
In 1920, he sold his adding machine patents to Remington outright. In 1927, Remington, Dalton and several other office machine companies merged to form Remington Rand.
REMINGTON DATES OF MANUFACTURE

Remington made use of a two or three letter Firearms Identification Code that can be located on the left side of the barrel, just ahead of the frame. The first letter of the code identifes the month, the other letter(s) identify the year.

Patent dates are engraved on the left side of the barrel, ranging from 1897 to 1913. While the Colt1911 is officially listed as beginning service in 1911, the model originated in the late 1890s prior to undergoing modifications.
The Typewriter Database is a wonderful resource when trying to date your typewriter. Simply go to the website at http://typewriterdatabase.com to get started. Select your typewriter`s Brand from the drop down menu. A new page will open that will feature the most recently edited typewriter galleries.
The Remington Model 700 is a series of bolt-action centerfire rifles manufactured by Remington Arms since 1962.
After some brief production issues that required the attention of President James Rand, Jr. to fix, Remington Rand manufactured slightly less than 878,000 1911A1 pistols between the years 1942 and 1945, making them the leading wartime manufacturer of the pistol.
So, what is Remington Firearms` net worth today? It isn`t exactly clear how much Remington is worth today, though we estimate the company may still be a million-dollar entity. When the company filed for bankruptcy in 2020, it listed its assets to be between $100 to $500 million.
The Remington Model 870 shotgun is the best-selling gun in Remington history. Introduced in 1950 to replace the Model 31, it has been produced in a vast number of variants and is still in production. Versions have been made for military and law enforcement, as well as for the traditional sporting market.
Remington Rand had been formed in 1927, combining several manufacturers of office machines and business equipment, including the Remington Typewriter Company (established in 1873) and the Rand Kardex Bureau (formed in 1886).
The gist of this Remington Model 1911 R1 review is that it`s well-made, accurate, made in the USA and you can basically get one for a song these days. If you want a basic Government frame 1911, it`s a great choice.
Remington suspended production of the 1911 in 1919 until April 2010, when they announced that they would resume manufacturing. This time, the pistol would be known as the Remington 1911 R1. This comeback into the handgun market is the first in years since Remington discontinued their last pistol, the Remington XP-100.

On my model 770 in 300 mag. new right out of the box, cleaned in and oiled it but the bolt action was still sticky and after firing a box and a half though it it still will not eject the spent casing and I have to turn the gun on it’s side and let it drop out on it’s own. I have even called Remington’s repair shop in Or. and they can’t guarantee it will work as he said it was nothing but a cheap rifle from Remington. I will be sending to Remington’s repair shop and if they can not repair it what rights do I have to get my money back? As I don’t feel that I should keep on having to pay for shipping all the time for there poorly made rifle.
ANSWER : I am not sure about that in your location, meaning laws depend and vary from location to location.
But with your problem I guess a simple look on the paper works or the invoices or something and trying to find the “fine prints” or statements regarding about return and exchange policies, or their warranty coverage. Should you find them and it states coverage “on your side”, well I may suggest you do have a right to claim a refund or a new stock, but if it states otherwise, and of course you have already signed the paper works, I think you may not be eligible for any refund or claim whatsoever.

It is always stated in the paper works you sign when purchasing items,(this is what happens here in my location), so its important to read them well, specially the rule “read between the lines” comes into place, specially the “fine print” or the text or sentences written in a very small, often unreadable with your eyes not squinting.

But a good talk between them and you could always results in a good compromise or agreement both beneficial for you and them.

My swimming pool. I have just had my fifth IC 40 Intellichlor chlorine generator installed in 4 years at a cost of over $900 today. Each one has worked for no more than 8 months. The first three were replaces under three year warranty, the fourth by a factory rep and I bought the fifth today. The first three all failed with Flow Chk PCB error message. The fourth just stopped working on Sunday, no power or lights. A local Pentair warranty person, whom I paid a Service Call, unplugged the unit, opened the small power center cover, showed me the green light indicating that there was power, plugged in a new IC 40 which worked immediately (as did the other four). I asked if I should replace the power center and he said that it’s basically just a transformer and is working fine. We do get occasional power blips that make the clocks on microwaves, etc blink, but I thought that the power center essentially isolates the cell from these. I do have a Florida Power and Light surge protector on the electrical box that brings power into the house. I have now talked to the pool builder, two Pentair warranty repairmen and one factory rep. I am at a loss. They all tell me they have no idea why these units fail after less than a year. This last IC 40 was installed 3/24/2010, version 2.0 and now failed in less than 5 months. Should I replace the power center that the IC 40 plugs into. Any other suggestions. I have been told that this is the best chlorinator. I don’t want to keep replacing units. By the way, each unit had been spotless inside. I keep the water chemicals and salt levels at ideal levels. The units have never worked long enough to get dirty inside. The power center is connected to an Intellitouch control system outside with an indoor control panel. Last time I called Pentair North Carolina and got some smart alec tech person that had no suggestions. Please Help if you can.
ANSWER : I’ve had the same experiance. On my fifth one as well. Fail every year. No idea why.
