How Does An Electric Golf Cart Accelerator Work? The golf cart speed controller and solenoid are both controlled by the accelerator. The pedal is connected to the potentiometer. That means when you are pressing the pedal for acceleration, you are actually going through the potentiometer by pushing a rod.
Your golf cart`s speed controller is an integral part of the vehicle. It`s designed to measure out current and battery voltage to the motor so it can raise and lower the vehicle`s speed. It also monitors the overall state of the motor and generates signals to match the alternating currents.
Check the Batteries – Check if your golf cart batteries are at full charge or not. Sometimes, if the batteries are not fully charged, it can cause acceleration hesitation. Inspect the Battery Cables – Check the battery cables for any damage or loose connections.
Weak batteries, incorrect tires, and wear and tear to the motor are all potential causes of your cart`s slow speed. Tire Size – The size of your cart tires is another factor that may be impacting your speed uphill. The larger your tires are, the more work your carts needs to do to get uphill.
There is no mechanical linkage between the accelerator pedal and the throttle valve with electronic throttle control. Instead, the position of the throttle valve (i.e., the amount of air in the engine) is fully controlled by the ETC software via the electric motor.
Traditionally, golf carts operate on DC power, but that trend is changing as manufacturers are beginning to embrace the benefits of using AC power and motors. You can actually convert your DC motor into an AC motor by discussing the steps with a skilled engineer or hiring one to do the job.
If there is a problem with your speed sensor, you might experience issues with the cart feeling sluggish or slower than normal. In addition, there can be problems with shifting gears, engine RPM issues and even an inability to shift.
Usually, the most common reason golf carts slow down is when they don`t get enough power output from the battery. If the battery pack charge is very low and your cart is out of power, your cart will run slow.
If the solenoid is broken and not working correctly, you may notice your golf cart won`t start, picking up speed, or even working at all (issues with acceleration could also be caused by a bad speed controller). As technology advances, solenoids are becoming more reliable.

The main sign of an issue in an electric cart is a lack of any “click” noise at all when you turn on your cart`s ignition. Usually, you`ll be able to hear the solenoid clicking both on and off whenever you switch your ignition.

A throttle position sensor (TPS) is a sensor used to monitor the air intake of an engine. The sensor is usually located on the butterfly spindle/shaft, so that it can directly monitor the position of the throttle.

I have a Kohler Condidant 5 Generator that will run as long as you hold the start button in. It dies when you let off. I have a harness for the remote switch but no switch – It also will start the generator when you cross the red and black wire and run as long as you hold them together. There are 3 wires to the main switch and 5 to the remote switch. Does the starter stay engaged the whole time you hold the start switch or does the computer release the starter once it is running? The Generator is producing electricity because I tested it while holding the start button. Some where is a wire that shold tell it to keep running. I have read online many descriptions of the same problem, most are told the board is bad so they replace it and still have the problem. Have not found a solution. Talked to a marine machanic today and he said he fixed his friends generator doing the same thing by running a bypass wire but he couldnt remember exactly what he did it was a long time ago. Can anyone help me. Thank you
ANSWER : The problem is either the ballast resistor or the starter bypass relay. The bypass relay should be part of the starter solenoid. I’m afraid I can’t tell you exactly where the ballast resistor is located. It should be a physically fairly large resistor made of ceramic. It should be retangular roughly 1.5″-3″ long and 3/8″-1/2″ accross with a wire on each end. It could also be a coil of wire mounted on a phenolic board.

On 2006 EZGO electric golf cart, 36 volt. Cart intermittently goes very very slow. Sometimes, after backing up then will go normal 19 MPH. Turn it off and the goes slow again. facts – batteries tested and show 6 volts each and full set tests at 36v. Cart never had this problem until ran out of power and was towed about 1000 yards. I was told by by the person towing the cart that he put the control switch from Run to Tow. Any ideas what the problem could be?
ANSWER : He may not have known to put it in tow mode and doesn’t want to get blamed for damage to transmission towing it in wrong gear.

1985 40 hp Johnson outboard wouldnt open up and
ANSWER : Sounds like your mix is off and it’s fowling the plugs. probably too rich. make sure the level in your carb bowls isn’t too high. Really sounds like you should clean and bench set your carbs. Especially if a plug change helps but doesn’t last, then it’s got to be your fuel mix, or maybe timing.

Motor was running great, but it died slowly and never start again
ANSWER : Check to see if you have a spark -then check if you are still getting fuel-and how old is the fuel-because it is recommended ,an im assuming its a 2 stroke motor,that the fuel should be replace with a fresh 2 stroke mixture every couple of months as the mixture jellyfies and sludges up the carb etc-try those first

1996 bayou runs for short time ,keeps stalling out
ANSWER : Hello, I would start first, make sure ex pipe is open . Then I would check the pick up coil, ohms should be 390-590 on a 300 KLF. Do this test before u start the bike Then start the bike and when it quits running check the pick up coil ohms. If good move on to the coil, If good then I would say good chance CDI is bad I hope this helps

Intex pool not compatible with Polaris vac-sweep cleaner
ANSWER : Polaris should have an adapter to make it fit, I’m surprised you didn’t get one, usually an adapter is put in a box to make it work with multiple pools, you can call them and order one or go to a local hardware store or Menards and make your own. They will have PVC fitting adapters. You should be able to find one that will work which you may need to permanently attach it on the one end and custom fit it, but if you have basic skills, then you shouldn’t have a problem with getting it to work.
